For my money the 49ers 2 best players in the super bowl were Samuel and Bosa. Rookies. What did we get out of our top picks? Nada To be fair, Bosa's name wasn't called much during the SuperBowl. My crowd of Ohio State fans even made that point. ( Not that Nick wasn't the best rookie of the year or a great player going forward!) But we also commented how Samuel was a beast early and often in last night's big game! Counterpoint [for discussion not argument]- the Chiefs (who won the game) didn't have any outstanding rookie performers last night... what does that mean? If you can avoid it, you don't want to put the biggest game in the world in the hands of rookies.

They have drafted well and had some exceptional results. We went 5-11. Can we draft well and have some exceptional results? What it means and emphasizes is that when you are in position to pick near the top you have to make it count. Chiefs had some big FA and rookie contributions as well. Thornhill had an ACL so didn't play in the game but he was strong for them all season. We got nearly nothing from the draft.

Those 2 guys didn't lose the game for the 49ers. They were one of the main reasons the 49ers were ahead.

Preferring rookies over vets in the SB when they are throwing up in the tunnels pre-game is Approved. Its not done, but its approved. Vets would have to have one arm cut off of their bodies before Lynn would give a rookie more snaps. (Derwin James gets the exempt waiver.) Jackson over Gordon ? Nope Stick over Rivers ? Nope Tillery snaps over Mebane. Nope Adderley over Jenkins. Nope Pipkens over Okung? Nope Quess over Pouncey ? Nope. On and on and on. If a rook has good talent, he's gonna get snaps. Game on the line: No. Too scary. Trust the vet. Thats the thinking.

The 49ers (and most of the league) don't have better players than Bosa and Samuel at their respective positions. The best talent plays homie. Every freakin time. I will accept your virtual kneel.

I said good rooks will get snaps. Nick Bosa is a freak, and so is Derwin James. Samuel at 9ers........Sanders saved them coming over late from Denver. As good as SF is, that WR corp is razor thin in talent. You see KC has a good little rookie RB ? Thompson ? He ran it down to the one. Thanks for coming in on your solo snap for the entire game, go to the sideline. Vet Williams will take it in crunch time.

And I mean, they didn't care who the hell you were either ! Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu ?? Yep. Special Teamer until year 2. Talent plays ? Ha.

Let me ask you this. Did they win a SB with Troy on ST? Or did they win when he started at Safety? Maybe ole dick's formula wasn't so good.

They probably won the damn thing both times. Dick's formula was too good. The reason rookies didn't start, smarty pants, is the defense was too complicated for them to learn in their rookie year.

Now Pittsburgh is a nice little town but come on. Beaches traded for Primanti's? You do get points for the second bolded. Too complicated? Jack Lambert strikes me as a very sophisticated guy. Find the ball carrier and murder him.

Say TT drafts Herbert, or even your boy Tua, and the Bolts manage to get into the PO's as a WC club. Then further imagine they manage to squeak out some wins and get to the Super Bowl. Now it is "the biggest game in the world" and you are going to trot out Taylor because you can't trust your rookie? Talent plays......
