If you don't fix the OL... it won't matter who your QB is. ^^^^^THIS^^^^ A thousand times this. Unless the bolts address some OL in FA, they cannot afford to draft a QB at #6. We have tons on money to spend this offseason. Start by re-signing some of our own (Henry, Ekeler...). Then go get the best RT money can buy (Conklin). Move Tevi inside (where his feet belong). Then replace Okung (and his bloated contract) with the #6 pick (Thomas or Wills). If Pouncey is physically done... replace him, too. Let Campen work his miracles with IOL. Other than Burrows, all other QB's are going to sit a year and learn. We're not going to the SB next year. Get a young mid-round QB to develop and replace Tyrod with (in a year). Build your OL... one you wouldn't mind putting a young QB behind. 1. OT Thomas/Wills 2. CB Gladney/Dantzler 3. LB Malik Harrison 4. QB Anthony Gordon 5. RB Joshua Kelly/Keyshawn Vaughn 6. 1-tech Benito Jones OT: Wills/Conklin/Pipkins OG: Lamp/Feeney/Tevi OC: Quessenberry/ ?

They do need to address OL. FA would be a good start. Hitting on a sound OL after pick #6 would be a good option. What about a non-QB/OL #6 ? There appear to be other elite prospects who may be available. Decisions, decisions.
Tom y John need to have been working on their plan for this offseason for approximately since they started working together. I don't see it as either/or. They should not allow themselves to be painted into that box when the options include diverse elite young talents. #6 should be the most talented player left on their board. There will be some Pro Bowlers, maybe HOF available. If it's an OL or QB, Great! But do NOT take a good player at the cost of passing on a great one.

A DL, or LB would be fine at 6. I'm more in Boltnuts camp. Fromm in round 2/3 or Gordon like he said (though do not know a lot about either). But our biggest need is OL, so that has to be the priority. With the depth available in both FA and draft, they can nail it.

IMO, we have to address OL in FA and @#6. Both OT positions should be solid. I think attacking the Chiefs' DE's, using the run game, is vital to beating them. Protecting the next QB is also vital. I have no confidence that any 2nd round OT's can do both from this year's draft. What is an "elite" prospect...? Freaky athleticism...? Why can't dominant OL be considered "elite" if they make others around them (QB, RB, WR, TE) better? I think Tom y John are too star struck by freaky athletes. Build your trenches and let your freaks run in the 4X400 relay race. I don't want Pro Bowlers... I want a better team.

In fact, I think he could shift one spot over and do pretty well too. he is still growing, and got better as the season went on.

What if I told you PR made our oline look worse than it really is... I know, ya'lls mind is blown! Yeah, I'm not buying that. They were pff's 29th ranked OL. 31st in QB pressures. RB's getting hit behind the LOS too much... wasn't PR's fault. The new QB's will be a mess if we roll with that OL from last year.

Ekeler and Gordon had decent seasons considering our record... I suffice to say our oline was more middle of the pack and PR's lead feet dragged them to 29th. Naysayers going to naysay!!

Ekeler's ypc dropped from 5.2 to 4.2 and MG's dropped from 5.1 to 3.9. PR had one of the very lowest "time-to-throw" averages (2.63 sec) in the NFL, yet Chargers were 31st in pressures given up. Still not buying it...

Still not buying it... Ekeler was beast before Gordon came back and failed to live up to his own hype... Gordon's decline was mental, and Ekeler lost carries he shouldn't have. Considering PR's career average time to throw is around 3 seconds, 2.63 seems right for an aging QB that can't move around the pocket.
