Starting cornerback Mike Davis has been suspended two games by the NFL for violating the league's policy on substances of abuse, the NFL announced Friday. Davis ascended to a full-time starting role in 2019, recording 27 tackles, five passes defended and his first career interception through nine games. The Los Angeles native was happy to embrace his Mexican heritage last week when his team traveled to Mexico City to face the Kansas City Chiefs, a game they ultimately lost 24-17. Davis recorded a tackle and pass defense in the defeat. Now the Chargers will have to proceed without Davis for the next two weeks. Brandon Facyson is listed behind Davis on the Chargers' depth chart, though it's likely Desmond King could also see some time in Davis' place after the bye when the Chargers face the Denver Broncos.

Somehow I find this loss of his use, inconsequential and somewhat of an improvement

Thanks for posting that Ohio. A few things can bother us here: Our players are not known for this kind of stuff. Choirboys. So that alone is news in itself. I was just thinking we need a CB. Our number 2 CB is........eh.....not top shelf. Davis was thrust into it. He got better, then took a step back. There is a saying in the passing league: You can never have enough corners. I don't like our depth at CB at all. Need at least one goodie to fill in. Healthy we are 4+ deep at Safety. Outside corners we only have Hayward.

But, but, how can we spend our entire draft and free agency budget on OL if we need corners?

Our handicap is Rivers extension, and Joey Bosa extension. Lots of moolah flying around there. You guys said save the Gordon money. "Good running backs can be had in the third and fourth rounds of the draft." Uh huh......well lets see it. Its easy to use cool cliches for answers at the time. Stuff gets a little different when the cleats hit the turf for the 2020 season. Let's see it. I'll be watching. My words always strike fear into the weak and evil, don't they.

Yes they do......but sometimes the decisions are painful ones, both in terms of losing talent and of signing big dollar contracts that impact cap space. Let Gordon walk, roll with what you have already on roster as your primary RB's. Supplant the group via FA's...... Your words....fear you say.....much more like humor.
