I've been thinking about this recently... Is the Superbowl less important this year? I would assume it is still important to the teams and players, but what about everyone else? Cities already claim to lose money by hosting it. www.businessinsider.com/super-bowl-nfl-football-hosting-cost-worth-host-cities-2019-2What else does it bring? More people... More chances for COVID... What will the TV ratings be this year if people are already turned off by kneeling, no fans in the stands, potential star players out for whatever reason, potential shortened season due to the unknown??? What do you all think?

have to think about this one. Its a matter of perspective. I can totally see the turn off with a sporting event turned into not just a political event, but a divisive message board. For others they will look passed that, ignore it, just so they can enjoy the game. The team that can come out on top with all the new conditions would show how they handled important. I thought super bowls made money. Does anyone know if baseball is actually being viewed by larger numbers than ever before. If the ratings are down for baseball, I would think that is an indicator for football.

For 149 dollars, you can have your pet on there too !! (This is ALL just a Freak's dream year.) Somebody paid to have a cutout of their horse out there !!!!!!!!!!! OMG, LOVE it. If the Chargers can win a SB, I don't care if there are cutouts of armadillo's in the stands, and half the league is out with the plague. Just Win, Baby

I have no problems at all with a Super Bowl win this season. The player strikes in 1982 that resulted in a shortened season and 1987 where replacement players were used for 3 games didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the Team Formerly Known As Redskins lifting the Lombardi following each of the seasons. 🍺
What I learned from 1987 is that it’s vitally important for the squad to remain tight and committed to one another in order to excel in an unusual season. Joe Gibbs made it known to the players that it was important that they stick together and not fracture when it came to breaking the picket line. I believe that the Skins were the only team that didn’t have a player break the picket line, and their replacement players (who Gibbs and the front office carefully assembled) went 3-0 during the vets absence. That included an important win over the Cowboys in the last replacements game where the Cowboys had at least a half-dozen starters return, including HOFers Randy White and Tony Dorsett.
I recommend the 1987 America’s Game episode for viewing, where the season ended in the memorable Super Bowl against the Donkos where Doug Williams and the unknown Timmy Smith rallied the squad from a 10-0 first quarter deficit to a 35-10 halftime lead where they scored 5 TD’s in less than 20 plays in the 2nd quarter. Still get chills over that game!!
