This is the first time since I started playing fantasy football that I did not draft a single Chargers player!
Oh, I wanted to- But the others in my league (mostly Steelers and Browns fans by the way) were in a race to get as many Bolts as possible on to their team! Every round a Charger player went before I picked, from Ekeler in the first to Keenan and Big Mike, of course Herbert, and even late in the draft the Defense was taken.
Technically I could've picked our Kicker or one of our TEs, but I hate rooting for us to kick field goals instead of touch downs so I've never liked having the Chargers' kicker and I had previously drafted Kyle Pitts so I didn't need a TE.
I'm thinking this may be a refreshing way to watch the Chargers games this year- no stressing about a TD pass to the "wrong" guy or a goal line fumble and negative points instead of six!
There's a few of you here on the CMB who play fantasy- anything noteworthy from your drafts or teams before the first weekend starts?
Oh, I had Allen Robinson the Rams WR who played last night. At least I thought he played, but one catch for 12 yards- he might as well have been back in Chicago eating deep dish pizza and hot dogs with peppers on them!

I have Cam Akers, who was worthless... I seemed to have wasted a 2nd round pick on him, I hope he gets his crap together. I'm in another league that drafts an ungodly amount of players and doesn't use kickers. It was kinda ridiculous so toward the end of the draft I took 2 defenses, Chargers and Bills. I had Bills defense on the bench, sucks. I hope our defense pounds the Raiders into the sand, the Bills defense would have got me 18 points.

Am I a complete idiot for even thinking about picking up the Chargers DEF against the Bears this week?
Someone please let me know if my homerism has overtaken my sanity, or if this could have fantasy relevance for one week!

If all 31 other defenses are on other rosters, then you gotta do what you gotta do. |
