Trades are tricky business, and rarely good for both clubs. Brown being vocal about his position not being the correct one, well....it would concern me. I do not want someone else's problem, so I would be very cautious about this trade idea. Just draft Slater or Darrisaw seems like the wise move. Brown played left tackle for the Ravens when Staley was injured inn2030, and he played very well at the position. Now that All Pro Staley is healthy, the Ravens are moving Brown back to right tackle in what is his final season before he can hit the free agent market for the all important second contract where most players tend to maximize their NFL market value. Any potential team looking to trade for Brown needs to be careful due to the need to extend Brown for his second contract at the time of the trade (you don’t trade a 1st round pick for a potential one year rental), but Brown is a proven 24-year-old NFL tackle who can anchor an oline for the next decade. He’s definitely worth kicking the tires as a potential trade target over the next few weeks leading up to the start of the 2021 league year.

How are people feeling about the pursuit of Zach Ertz? He’s 4 years older than Hunter and was banged up last year and had his worst season. Still may be much less expensive than Hunter and when healthy has been more productive If they have decided to not sign HH, for whatever reason, then there most certainly a plan. Not against Ertz on initial look, but would definitely be doing serious homework on him. Need to find out about injury, and just how much is left in his desire. There is a reason he will be much less expensive. I need to know it, and be comfortable with it, or pass on him. The reason he is much less expensive is because he is still under contract for 2021. When he signed the deal in 2016, he was the fourth highest paid TE in the NFL. bleacherreport.com/articles/2610471-zach-ertz-eagles-agree-on-new-contract-latest-details-comments-reaction

LEFT tackles make 4-5 million dollars more per year than Right tackles. Brown is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and there are trade rumors out there. OF COURSE HE IS GOING TO SAY HES A LEFT TACKLE !?!?!$$$$$$$$$ He is the best sure thing at LT in the NFL and college available this offseason. PRIME AGE 24 !!!!!!!! You can give Herbert the star LT he deserves right here, right now, for ten years.
Give them the first. Darrisaw is an NFL unknown, is he available when we pick ?? Read this, and then tell me about Darrisaw so I can laugh:
Brown surpassed any expectations at left tackle, earning his second Pro Bowl nod in three years. He allowed just three sacks all season long and was a force both when run blocking and pass protecting, helping solidify Baltimore’s offensive line as they were ravaged by injuries. So it should come as no surprise Brown now wants to be considered a left tackle.

TT would still need to be certain about injury or health, before making any trade offers.

I also understand Brown is talented, but no way a trade doesn't include an extension. A very expensive extension..... Drafting Slater or Darrisaw has your LOT on an ELC one year behind your QB Herbert. Not a chance in heck I give 13th overall for Brown.

I personally view it as a choice of 3 paths. 1. Trade 1st for Brown after agreement to a new contract. At 24 we should have him for 8-10 years. 2. Sign a free agent tackle. Drawback they will be older and cost more while most likely getting 2-3 years 3. Draft a OT at 13. They will be cheaper but the question is even though they have potential will they develop into what we need.
all 3 involve risks. For me the smart choice with the pick (if it is planned to be used on an OT) is to go with option #1 trading it to the Ravens for Brown and get a proven player rather than drafting an OT and hopping it works out.

I am just not locked into believing an OT is TT's first pick (13th), there are simply too many other options/needs.

We may have a decent starter at RT if Bulaga is healthy. Currently there are depth / development players in the other 4 slots. Turner does not provide risk / reward value. Cut.
What we do in FA and who is available at #13 will determine whether we use 13 for OL or later picks.
Highest rated talent applies if there is a significant difference. Not just #10 rated player vs #15 rating. A decent starting OL can only be beaten out by a ROY lock.

I would say the OL is the #1 need , without one that can protect the QB allowing them time to pick the best option you have a recipe to lose. This was just played out in the Superbowl when having to play with 2 backup OT even a QB as great as Mahomes in an offense like KC was unable to anything.
Herbert's talent will be wasted if we go into another year without improving our OL.

There's another North Dakota State QB in the draft this year. Now if Small School Sammy isn't enough to drive me insane, HE ONLY PLAYED IN ONE GAME THIS SEASON. Wait I have more. HE IS ONLY A SOPHOMORE. Wait for it.........................HE'S THE FREAKING 4TH RANKED QB IN THE DRAFT CLASS ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! iN HIS ONE GAME HE ONLY PASSED FOR 149 YARDS AND AN INTERCEPTION !!!!!! 4TH RANKED QB IN THE WHOLE DRAFT ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! These teams just freak out for QB's. It does amuse me though. I love it.
