^^^leatherwood and spencer I am not high on and the two of them meet the standard. Darrisaw I like but many charger fans don’t like him citing effort concerns in his play
Walker Little is probably becoming a personal favorite as he really pops on film and at 6’7” he is not only larger than most guys here but also one of the most fluid on film, the guy looks like the prototype even if his arms a bit shorter than 34” at 33 3/4”

In fact, I just picked him in a mock draft I just did at thedraftnetwork.com/mockDraft/ Knowing there are decent tackles beyond the popular first rounders swayed me into selecting the best Edge player over Darrisaw in round one when the top OTs, DBs, and receivers were gone. (I was fully expecting to get Slater or Horn with pick 13 and was really screwed up when they were both gone in this mock draft!) The first 12 picks were: 1 Lawrence 2 Wilson 3 Jones 4 Pitts 5 Chase 6 Waddle 7 Sewell 8 Slater 9 Parsons 10 Surtain 11 Smith 12 Horn If that happens in real life, perhaps a team wanting Trey Lance or Justin Fields would trade up to our 13th spot! 13. Jaelan Phillips EDGE, Miami 47. Asante Samuel Jr. CB, Florida State 77. Walker Little OT, Stanford 97. Ben Cleveland IOL, Georgia 118. Talanoa Hufanga S, USC 159. Simi Fehoko WR, Stanford 185. Khalil Herbert RB, Virginia Tech 198. Robert Jones IOL, Middle Tennessee 241. Sage Surratt WR, Wake Forest In hindsight I probably should've taken Darrisaw (he went the very next pick!) since he is a prototypical Left Tackle which is our biggest PON. I think it's a very talented draft class, and O-line and WRs are especially deep, so I wanted to see how it might look if we used our first two picks on defense.

Walker Little has been steadily moving up boards since his pro day, I’m reading that he could go at the top of the second round between cosmi and eichenburg, and before radunz, and christensen it’s really hard to tell what is relevant information this time of year tho, I hope the chargers draft him and I don’t mind it being the 47th pick I still prefer AVT at 13 tho, he is a sure thing at 13 and I can’t say that about darrisaw. Settle for potentially the 2nd-3rd best tackle at 13 or get potentially an ALL pro left guard in AVT and easily the clear cut best IOL in the draft. It’s not like this OL is going to be complete after the draft anyway. Adding a premium talent like AVT is just too tempting to me

I learned that the late day 3 or potential undrafted rookie free agent prospect that the chargers had a zoom meeting with (Larnel Coleman, 6’6” 307 pounds) has 36 1/4” arms!!!
He did 24 reps, ran a 5.2 40, had a 31 inch vert, and broad jumped 9’5” impressive numbers BUT the guy is RAW, he was a basketball player and his technique is virtually non existent, but he has potential as a very cheap developmental practice squad guy.
Another guy that was going to be a day three pick or go undrafted due to dating violence allegations at FSU is now coming out of marshall, his name is Josh Ball, he’s 6’7” confirmed 321 pounds HE has 35” arms, he reminds me of andrew withworth, the guy tested well and is an impressive tackle prospect. The dating violence thing sounds like a tumultous relationship between two very immature young people, he held her in a closet once because she pitched a fit when he hadn’t texted her back on time and she wanted to know where he was, on another occassion she got a scrap on the knee from being knocked to the ground while they were fighting over his cell phone, it wouldn’t take much for a man that size to knock anyone over. IDK, it sounds like the girl came from an influential family because he was kicked out of FSU and got basically a restraining order which prevented him from going to the same school as she. For some reason this guy is shooting up draft boards and now some teams are supposedly considering him in the 3rd round (here’s looking at you ravens) this guy should become a very good NFL starter if he has matured and solved his personal issues, still in the 3rd or 4rth round he might be worth the risk.

There is talk of the Steelers POSSIBLY trading up into the top 10 and taking the FIFTH QB off the boards. (Lending itself to MY OLD adage that teams go crazy for QB's.)
If 5 QB's go before us, do you realize the talent that will be left on the board when we pick ?!
We would be in the top 8 of non-QB players !!!
Exciting.

If a player is lazy, it shows in game tape, and is already part of their draft package.

I have spoken.

TT solves, or tries to solve the OT problem in the 2nd round, as I think he already has a small cluster of OT's he thinks will be there. So 1st pick is probably a CB, then 2nd pick is an OT.

OMGosh, I thought I was the only person really high on Teven Jenkins (and not so high on Darrisaw) but watch/listen to the first 60 seconds of this interview with a former Chargers scout:

If a player is lazy, it shows in game tape, and is already part of their draft package. I’ve done a lot of research on darrisaw and I’ve yet to find anything that says he’s lazy. The kid put himself through a grueling year of military academy school in order to improve his body, maturity, and mind for college. The guy is efficient on the field but because he plays so smoothly people feel his play lacks urgency, I disagree. Another guy that was described like that out of college was trent williams! Williams was described as lacking elite pass blocking technique and not having a nasty streak, many teams thought he would be a bust, LOL.

OMGosh, I thought I was the only person really high on Teven Jenkins (and not so high on Darrisaw) but watch/listen to the first 60 seconds of this interview with a former Chargers scout: This scout is unemployed for a reason. All you have to do is listen to teven jenkins himself to unravel the mystery of what this man says we will never know. Teven jenkins has been outspoken about being a right tackle, he prefers the right side, he says he can be more consistent with his footwork on the right side. In recent interviews he almost sounded frustrated that NFL scouts are making him do LT drills. He said something to the effect, “I understand why they want me to do it but I feel more comfortable with my footwork on the right side.” Then his arms came in at 32 1/2 inches. I beleive Teven jenkins is going to be a probowler in the NFL, but it’s either going to be at RT or at RG. The kid wants to play were he can dominate and why wouldn’t he? If the chargers draft him at 13 I’d be dissapointed because it’s too high for jenkins he’s a guy that has already maxed out his talent and will play inside or on the right plus he can be drafted in the 20-28 range. If they trade down and draft him I’d be completely okay with that pick because I agree that baluga cannot be counted on.

Also he says he likes Darrisaw but aside from saying that his run blocking is inconsistent he doesn’t really have any real gripes with the guy. Darrisaw could very well be a bust, sewell could very well be a bust, and yes jenkins and slater could be busts too despite the appearance that their floor is much higher. Darrisaw has the highest ceiling of any of those guys because he’s still growing into his body, he still hasn’t gotten his man strength and although he has steadily improved his technique since his freshman year, he still can improve even more.
I think darrisaw will be the best of the bunch when it’s all said and done.
