I secretly want a WR I fully understand the value of LT. His last name has to start with an S If you go cornerback I only want Alabama Surtain. REACT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll give you some of my secret wishes and comment on yours- I LOVE Devonta Smith, but there seems to be so many good WRs in this draft that taking him- despite being clearly ranked as the top 2 or 3 in this class!- is like having extra frosting but no cake to put it on. I wouldn't hate it if he fell to 13 ( I think he'll go sooner) and the Chargers selected him, especially if other fan-favorite players were gone. He's an electric player. Chase is considered the #1 receiver and Pitts the #1 mismatch, but I have Smith right behind those guys in those categories. Our offense could be EXCITING with Smith added to this roster, with the obvious concern of Offensive Line especially Left Tackle which we'd address somewhere somehow. There is the risk of Smith being undersized and thus injury prone at the NFL level, but I don't buy it in this case. I also think Devonta Smith, with his accolades and hype, would be a media or marketing sensation- and for a team desperate to draw fans, locally and abroad, this may have a bigger appeal than simply drafting a boring player to fill a hole on the roster. I kinda want Caleb Farley... that recent back surgery really changed his risk/reward ratio though. If that never happened and he was 1,000% healthy, I think he's the #1 corner in this draft. Now it's such a gamble, especially for a pretty high pick. I secretly would be happy if Darrisaw was our pick at 13. I've called him vanilla, which is neither great nor hate, and may be more of a compliment considering it's a position you don't want to hear your name called during a game. My two favorite players in this draft are Jenkins and JOK, and each seems a bit of reach for the Chargers at 13 and neither EXACTLY matches our team this year- kinda like that shape sorter ball toy where the rectangle looks like it should go into the square hole but not quite. I could still either being chosen if the Chargers traded back a ways however. Even with healthy Farley, I would take Surtain. Bigger, physical, ready for PrimeTime. Farley reminds me of an Adderley or Verrett type. I like Devonta Smith too. 23 touchdowns last year ? Yeah, I like him. His comp is Marvin Harrison.

Nobody is pounding the table for Edge Rusher ?? You know why ? Because none are elite this year. Chase Young was last year.
The Miami guy seems unpolished to me. Not ready for NFL yet. The Michigan guy isn't worthy of #13 pick.
REACT AS I DESTROY THE EDGE RUSHERS FOR 2021 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am of the belief that OT will not be the pick, and the highest rated (as rated by the Bolts) player still available will be their pick. Might be a CB (Horn), maybe WR (Smith)....even Edge is an option (Phillips or Paye), could be ILB (Parsons).... but I do not think OT. No trade up, possibly a trade down, but my feeling is they make the pick at 13th. When is the first day of the draft anyway? Google only works occasionally up here due to covid.......

He could be a mainstay at RT or G for ten years, the chargers desperately need to acquire home grown probowl caliber Offensive line and stop spending money on older guys that are on the downsides of their careers. AVT is another one that I wouldn’t hesitate to grab either, the chargers just need a home run on offensive line, a guy to build their line around going forward. When I think of the Oline after FA I still think there are 2-3 big holes, LT isn’t the only question mark that’s for sure.

I don’t know if this is the greatest draft day trade in NFL history, but it’s on a very short list.

I don’t know if this is the greatest draft day trade in NFL history, but it’s on a very short list. There have been so many Joe. But that's a good one and does belong on the short list. KC saw something other teams did not see, and I would bet Andy Reid had a lot to do with it. But they gave up some draft stock to make the move. One of the tippy tops is also Jerry Rice. San Francisco head coach Bill Walsh fell in love with the Mississippi Valley State receiver before the draft and moved up from 28th overall to the 16th pick to get him. The 49ers sent second- and third-round picks to the Patriots to make the move and also got New England's third-round pick in return. Essentially, San Francisco gave up a second-round pick to move up 12 spots in Round 1 and nine spots in Round 3. That's tremendous value in and of itself. When you add in the fact that Walsh turned the top pick into perhaps the best player of the modern era, it's nearly impossible to argue any other draft-day trade as the absolute best.

Here's to the Chargers having a transformational draft...enjoy.
Chargers trading up for Kellen Winslow Sr was tops in my book.
#20, #47 to CLE. #13 to SD.
Coryell scheme transformational prospect.
