Probably did, but MG burnt a bridge when he eld out. Why does this view persist? MG was offered 10 mil/yr for I think 3 years term, declined it and went to FA. Player gambled on himself, lost the bet. Pretty much everybody knew he was going to lose that bet. MGIII’s agent filled his head with grandeur. |

I actually like a player that will bet on himself, but the bet cannot be unrealistic, and in MG's example it was very much so. As you said, everybody knew it was a bad bet.
