Brenden James, T Nebraska This is a perfectly respectable pick, he projects as a guard in the NFL but could potentially have RT flex too, won’t know until preseason. when I saw him at the senior bowl the impression I had was that he looked worse than his nebraska tape, but to be fair, he looked compromised like he was playing hurt. This is not a reach but there were a couple of guys I might’ve looked at ahead of him

Playing hurt or the consecutive starts? he’s a tough guy for sure, he’s good quality depth at IOL with potential to become a starter on a team that doesn’t need him to play right away. He’ll have time to get stronger and could potentially become a starter in 2022. On last years line he might’ve started :0

I think that all picks after round 2 should be met with caution, if not some skepticism. But that’s not just TT’s picks.
So far I can see them thoughtfully building towards Staley’s vision. We’ll see as time goes along, it’s far too early to project today. These players seem like high-character, intelligent young men. If they work hard and learn they may just have a career.

Biggest surprise for me has been that the chargers haven’t drafted a safety today, really surprised, I think they’ll address it with some FA signings after the draft. Right now the focus is squarely on STs, the linebacker from iowa neiman is also STs addition

And we need players all over Two Olinemen drafted in a full o-line rebuild year? Is that really too much? I know they signed 3 in FA but depth is still a major concern IMO, in a typical year most teams draft a couple o-linemen to stave off attrition, but in a rebuild year I’d expect more

Apparently Popper had Nieman at this pick in his mock.

Roundtree rb Missouri not the best reviews So many offensive players, I’m really surprised no safeties taken, wow RB wasn’t even on my radar, does he have return skills?
