Should we we make a run at Jaylon Smith? Yes If we do, we better not commit much. It needs to be performance based. The Smith contract was one of the worst in Cowboys history due to his constant injuries, and they released him once he was healthy because the 2022 salary was guaranteed for (his next) injury.

injuries tend to do that. Go Merrill !!! MAKE them want to keep you around !!! He made a very big play tonight Merrill is going to make believers out of you guys, he’s not some ‘over-achieving-coaches-favorite-sentimental-roster-spot-guy’ the guy is a force at the LOS, he only got 3 plays but he popped just like in the preseason. On that tackle he was 1on 1 with leatherwood, stood him up and shed him to the side like a rag doll and then annihilated the RB like beast!!! you gotta stop looking at the short squat pudgy round 13 year old face looking dude and stop making snap judgements, this guy is naturally country strong with a nasty disposition, he’s a dawg! I can’t wait to see what he’ll look like with a full off season of NFL style conditioning. The guy is short but he’s not small, he’s wide like a refrigerator. RANT: And the coaches need to wake the @#$& up on bradwell, they got gem RB sitting on the practice squad that was one our best pass blocking backs, best vision, best run finishers, and best STs guys in preseason. In the meantime we got two WASTED roster spots in kelly and pip, especially know that we can count on roundtree and schofield, so why are those two guys on the roster besides the fact that they were 3rd and 4rth round picks!

Joe Gaziano only got 7 snaps, but I liked what I saw out there. Need both of those guys rotating this week against the run. Cleveland is going to run.

WTH IS the Kelley story ? He's not hurt that I know of. He never plays. No production is the only thing I can think of. The story is he’s clueless in pass protection, the guy is not able to pick up blitzes he has horrible instincts in the run game too, plus he likes to dance so not an efficient runner, his one redeeming quality is catching the ball. But both roundtree and bradwell do everything else better, plus play STs better, and can catch it just as good. He’s on the roster because was drafted in the 4rth round 18 months ago.

Gaziano is a personal favorite of mine. he’s a natural pass rushing strong side DE (what we hoped Isaac Rochell could be) in 4-3 defense, but the guy has reinvented himself into a 5 technique 3-4 style DE or DT in this system! Not a lot of guys could do this but he’s making it work! the staff loves him because he works his ass off, he’s smart, has pass rushing ability, and has improved his run defense a lot. His potential might already be maxed out, IDK, but he’s a really nice quality depth piece. He holds the career sack record for defensive linemen at Northwestern with 31 sacks.

Looks like we lost Oday to an ACL tear. Not good. He was just running free on the screen play and it didn’t show up on replay. Did a brown go low on his legs? Because that should’ve been called

Could very well be that. One thing for sure, the oline depth will take a hit & Jaimes needs to be prepared for action. 🍺
