Kenneth Murray placed on IR  He cranked his ankle three times over the past 7 weeks starting with the intrasquad scrimmage. They need to give it time to fully heal. Tranquil has been playing great, so it’s time to really step it up. Our practice squad D-line depth has been decimated, coach said they intended to resign banks to the practice squad but detroit snapped him up. Then gaziano is now active and merill is active. We’re down to one reserve on D-line (fehoko) on the practice squad. I expect them to bring back any of the guys still available from the preseason. Guys like smith, yarbary, and okoye if they’re still on the street.

I think it was clever to announce these moves today, the raiders are expecting the same look from first three games but the chargers will be rotating 3 NTs and may even line up two at a time against the raiders so merrill or fehoko might see time at 4 or 5 technique?

So two guys went to IR, only one was signed to 53 man roster, fehoko being activated from practice squad just means he’s still on the practice squad. So that leaves one roster spot open. It could mean that ryan smith might be back soon but I haven’t found any info on that.

Guys we currently have 52 players on the 53 man roster, the fact that they haven’t filled that spot tells me that ryan smith might be getting close to making his charger debut. This should improve our STs coverage unit a lot, think kassim osgood but with the ability to fill in at corner in a pinch
Also, we have 14 of the 16 practice squad slots filled, I expect the chargers to bring in at least one or maybe two of the DTs that came to camp assuming yarbary, smith, and okoye are still on the street. Otherwise they’ll go out and find a couple of DTs, I don’t think they’ll leave those two spots empty. With jones and K9 not eligible to return until after the bye week, the chargers have a full month plus 21 days to make roster moves to accommodate their eventual return

The chargers signed veterans DT andrew brown and LB josh watson to fill the two empty practice squad spots.
Now that the raiders took brandon facyson there is still an empty roster spot
i guess it makes sense that bradley would want brandon with all their injuries in the secondary and with brandon having played in his system the last couple seasons.
