I agreed, I can't remember the last time if ever TT got 2 great picks like that... He'll usually hit on one of them and then the rest are dumpster fires. What if any of it can be attributed to the new coaching staff? It’s not just the first 2 picks, this draft is going to produce a handfull of starters (slater, samuel, palmer, mckitty, jaimes, and webb) and an additional 2-3 guys that’ll become quality depth/STs contributors (rumph, nieman, and roundtree) plus everyone from this draft should still be on the team going into their second contract. That's fanspeak and conjecture (I mean no offense at all by that). We say those things every year and in reality it never happens. This coaching staff is 1-1, I'll hold my opinion on development a little longer.

The chargers waived eric banks today, I wonder which DT they’ll call up, I’m thinking gaizano? Unless this is about bringing ryan smith back from IR in which case they would lose one DT from the rotation, so far it’s been jones, joseph, covington, tillery, and banks on the roster, there’s no way they would only go with 4, right? Jones has been hurt too, so someone has got to get moved up.

I know that Staley prefers the 5 technique guys but when joseph rotates out we have no one that can do what he does and I think teams are taking advantage of that

He’s a run stuffing specialist with a dash of pass rush push. If I’m not mistaken we’re dead last in run defense in the NFL right now?

With the chargers’ history of success finding players in UDRFA you still think a guy like merrill can’t become a cog in the machine? Do I really need to rattle off some long ass list of undrafted rookie free agents that’ve become studs for this team? I’ve done those lists several times before and I think you know full well who all those fuggers are so I’m not doing it again. Merrill came in and looked better than fehoko in preseason with fehoko having had a full year of experience plus having linval joseph’s tutelage in said year, now that’s saying something right there! That tells me merrill got overooled in the draft because of his stature and that his upside is higher than fehoko’s. If forrest merrill was 6’5” 330 instead of 5’11 7/8” 330 were would he have gone in the draft, hmm? Have you seen any of his college tape? He dominated against SEC offensive linemen that got drafted in rounds 1-4, the kid is legit, drafted or otherwise! merrill not only made the initial 53 man roster but he is also one of the 4 “protected” members of the practice squad.
