It would be interesting to see the statistics on 'going for it' on 4th down, but I think two things on it....it feels like the younger HC's are more aggressive in this, and the rules have given the offence more edge to succeed.

I don’t know if my heart would have survived a 45 yard attempt with 1:45 left on the clock. OMG no. That whole time I was saying "There's too much time on the clock, there's too much time on the clock.......".

I'm a Freak, and I'm telling you it's too much. I like the aggression. But that bullshit at the beginning of the game has got to stop. 4th and goal, it's 0-0, and you are NOT kicking the FG ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! All we did was take 3 points off the board as far as I'm concerned. It's cute when you are playing Philly. You try that stuff when you are playing some Tampa and i warn you now, it's gonna bite us in the ass.

I suppose an argument could be presented that when playing against what might be perceived as a superior club, going for it is exactly what should be done, as you believe you will be needing those extra four points. Just can't fail......and that is really what has the board in tithers about. Staley failed, and out come the pitchforks.....but when he succeeds, he is a genius.

The Chargers got the ball back at the Eagles 35 yard line following the three & out from the Eagles 1 yard line and immediately took it in for 7 points. No way the Chargers have anywhere close to that field position their next possession had they taken the automatic 3. I’m not saying that it didn’t hurt some, but it didn’t turn out all that bad. |

It's gonna hurt more than some, someday. I have Forewarned you. I’ve seen it happen in the past all too often. Thankfully it didn’t this time. Good and/or bad, this is the team’s identity. I don’t see them pulling back the reins with their relatively young roster - the players see it as the coaching staff having confidence in them. Billy B was ahead of the curve when he started doing it early on in his NE tenure. |

I would feel that way if we did score a TD there. I actually believe you, but you are getting far too timid.....and conservative. Roll with the wild times, take chances, die early....
