Thats reported. But to the point, it reminded me of 4 and 11 vs the Pats. Marty should have put points on the board. The feel was in their favor at that point in the series. The bolts probably would have a trophy or two in the cabinet and a shiny new stadium in SD. That's another thing you reminded me of. If you want to go for it barely out of FG range, that's different than taking points off the board. Our new kick returner should have slapped him. 80 yard run = NO points. A bitch slap too.

While the analytics supported going for it, and Staley clearly wants to be aggressive, I think Staley is evolving on this issue. I get the feeling he will be more sensitive to the nuance of just putting points on the board, even though that decision is going against analytics, and his own preferences. I also would not be surprise to see an attempt to gain a new set of downs from the FG set...... The results of analytics are we went 1 for 5 and lost the game. You have to have a feel too. Know your opponent, know the moment, know when you are playing at home, know what is at stake. I'll paint this for you another way. If Bill Belichick senses a flow and all that goes into a game, he is very likely to shove an analytics book up an assistant coaches ass if he brings it up to him. Copy a GOAT. Be a GOAT. Word What Kinda what I was alluding to......there is a time where 7 points is just a killer on the opponent's desire, and a time when just getting points is the wise move. It is not all analytics, or one way every time.....and I believe Staley is evolving on this. We shall see.....

But that is not what he is saying.

Maybe, though we don’t know what is spin and what is authentic. Moreover, I’m not sure the decisions were “poor” except that we know *after the fact* that other decisions would have had different results. Prospective decision-making is still like Schrödinger's cat.

Fact going for it cost us the game. That's the only fact I need.

You have zero idea if any FG attempts would have been good, and would have resulted in a win. Staley's viewpoint could have easily happened.....kick FG, Mahomes goes and gets TD, the Chargers get another FG, Mahomes answers with a TD.....

If he puts another 28 points on the board instead of failing on the 4th downs we are having a whole different conversation.
Going for it on 4th down has always had the same 2 responses. If you make it = Genius, If you fail to make it = Dumbass
And since this is the Texans thread.
Go Bolts
Chargers 35 - 10 over the Texans
BTFU!

I hate when I'm always right. Genius.

We were at the top of the league in that category. Do we have to slap their pee pee's, or what fixes that ?
