This deserves it's own thread. Not just because of his impact, but because I said so. Shocked at how the Mods didn't start a thread. But know that as they fumble around "they were busy" or lazy, I will never let you down.
I have to dislike him for coaching because he was a raider coach. But he was very good. I would have to say he was probably my favorite broadcaster. Down to earth, he educated millions on football. He covered all positions, but to me, he educated and informed all of us on the importance of the trenches. His expertise on both lines was delivered to us like no one had ever done before. His video game franchise allowed yet ANOTHER generation to experience part of John Madden.
His impact on the NFL was incredible. RIP Legend John Madden.

I miss him and Pat Sumerall... Guys like that and Chick Hearn don't exist anymore. RIP John Madden.

BTW Bobby Beathard was in the SLO secondary on Madden’s Poly teams.
