What I saw in the first half was just terrible fundamentals for tackling. As you point out, perhaps it is just needing practice, but with the CBA limiting contact (my belief, not positive on it). It is similar at NHL, we have short number of games before season, but just accept the play will not be where we want it for about ten games of season. Penalties are always a problem with young players, eh There has literally been no tackling at practices so far (just wrap/touch at most). Although there won’t be full-on blowup tackling and the red shirts will be on QB’s, the joint practices against the Cowboys tomorrow & Thursday will be the biggest events on the training camp schedule, mainly due to the starters getting significant reps together. I’m planning on attending tomorrow’s practice that begins at 11AM PST. Watch those filthy Cowboys !!!!!! The cheaters will start some crap trust me. TO ARMS CHARGERS, TO ARMS !!!!!!!!!!

Said he can tweak schemes and 1st team second teams better that way. It was very interesting. Joint practices are so much more productive than preseason games, especially when it comes to starters & key reserves. So long as you can get in the good work there, it pretty much negates the need for preseason game time for veteran starters. Both the Saints and Chargers raved about them they held them over the past five years when PR & Brees were the QBs.
