Why not when Rivers restructured? Why not on Herbert’s first year? Second year?
This is Herbert’s third season
Why is he suddenly the GM of our dreams.. now?

It's very simple , they have John Spanos still in Covid lockdown and are feeding him a zoom feed that is highly edited.

PR was drafted before the rookie salary cap his first contract Rivers contract in 2004 was $40.5 million, including a $14.25-million signing bonus. with $10 million more in incentives. The salary cap then was 80.582 million. Justin Herbert will make 3,026,250 this year. and the NFL salary cap is 208.2 million. see if you can figure out the difference?
TT also knows he will get fired if we don't make the playoffs this year. And he knows his drafts the last 6-7 years have been poor at best in getting us starters and depth.

Amped said it very well, my sentiments exactly. I also give credit to DJ and KA for literally recruiting players for us.

You checker players constantly commenting and critiquing world class chess players and their process negotiating extremely volatile waters is comedy gold.

This makes no sense. Telesco sucks. He only gets lucky with picks (Herbert, Bosa, James, Slater, Keenan, Big Mike) and his FA signings and yet the Chargers will enter this season on the short list of SB contenders. It's amazing that we find ourselves in this position given our leader's ineptitude.

It's amazing that we find ourselves in this position given our leader's ineptitude. Every other Charger fan on the planet says TT sucks when we fail to make the playoffs or lose a series of games... That's sports. But, when the dust settles nobody (on this board) says that. You're exaggerating the criticism (at least mine)... I think his overall tenure warrants the average GM label I give him, and up until last year... Coupon Tom.
Its also pure fact that his drafts are less than stellar... Our special teams ranking year after year helps to prove that.

The other thing is that Belicheck actually gets production out of his bad draft picks.
