It is. This is an "all in" season before the roster faces a major overhaul / ejection of contracts belonging to big name players. I'm expecting (not hoping) that the defense will be a major upgrade over the past couple of seasons. My not understanding the intricacies of the NFL's CBA and Cap, I just rely on what I read. That being said, I have also learned through my NHL experiences, GM's can find amazing paths that keep good rosters good. Regardless of the feelings about TT on here, he is a very talented GM, and has plenty of quality people around him. I won't be surprised if he makes moves, and the roster stays quite competitive. The roster can absolutely stay competitive, but it will be different at the top end. At least 2 of Bosa, Mack, Allen, & Williams will not be on the Chargers roster next season, and the players recognize it. Bosa's recent comments reflect that he knows the time is now to make it happen. You can add JC Jackson to that list if he can't bounce back in 2023.

We'll mop up the pier with fish blood. Our secondary will be on cruise control after Bosa and Mack hit Tua. He'll be laying on his back flashing gang signs with his fingers again. Iron Fist Protocol is in full effect. Bosa and Mack will be feasting on Tua fish sandwiches.

Yes, I know there will be dead money, but unless I'm reading it wrong Spotrac shows it as a $15 million hit in 2024. www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/jc-jackson-25958/A lost cause is a lost cause if he can't bounce back, so they'd probably eat the money rather than keep dead weight around for another season. That being said, I do expect (in this case hope may be a better descriptive term) Jackson to bounce back with a solid season in 2023. He won't be fully back early on, but with the work he has put in he should be gaining confidence as the season goes on.
