Will the Charger D be able to stop the Fish's running game? If Tua has to pass, and or run it, Chargers win. Tua running can be dangerous, but he won't last the season if he is running too often. We will have our hands full with those WR's. One of the better groups in the league. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios, Cedric Wilson I wrote this Aug 31st ^^^^^^^^ Is there some reason I am not being paid to write this material ?

They do have a great WR corp... With that said I did not expect our pass rush to fail so spectacularly. With that also said, if Miami can play at this level all year they will be formidable in the PO's.

We’re here people. Been a long off season but kick off is less than 24 hours away. Is this the year the chargers get the monkey off their back? We seem to have the players. Do we have the coaches? We’ll start to see tomorrow. Let’s ride Since we’re quoting ourselves in this thread I will answer my own question and say an emphatic no we don’t have the coaches

I somehow enjoyed the game, at least the back and forth lead changes- until the last lead change at the end. I just knew that we left too much time on the clock after our last score, and since it was only a field goal it seemed inevitable that the Fins would score and win since we literally did not stop them on any of their drives except the random goal line fumble on their first drive (which we didn't even cause). Did the Dolphins even punt once? (I can't remember and won't be looking it up, just going off memory tainted by frustration and disappointment).
Positives- the offense was balanced and played pretty well. I would've liked to see more deep shots from Herbert to QJ or MW (I think there was only one). The O-line only played for 58 minutes. Kelly did well as a backup RB.
Negatives- the defense and by extension Staley. No pass rush, no pressure (no sacks?). Derwin seemed to play well, and some flashes by Davis and JC but I can't excuse the end of the half penalty by JC- idiot!
Thoughts on the Dolphins- I loved their play calling! Very creative and almost always had someone wide open. Obvs, Tyreek Hill killed us by himself (ok, together with Tua). I don't think they blitzed us all game, until the final three plays which crushed us! So credit their coaches calling this game. I think they will continue to rack up points (as long a Hill is healthy) and be a threat in the AFC.
Every loss is tough, but I think we'll see that we hung tough with one of the better teams this year. We still need much better coaching and defense if we're making the playoffs, but our offense can keep us in any game- except in the final two minutes, so let's hope we don't need to win from that situation again!

They did punt. Once.
Without the gift botched snap, this would (and should) have been a runaway blowout by Miami.
Jesus, just look at the third down stats. We rarely ever even got them to a third down.
The fact that we were even in this game, in spite of our Northwestern Coastal Vocational School of Flagstaff defense, is a massive testament to our offense.
Folks. You heard it here first (maybe not). You never, ever, ever, ever win an NFL game when your opponent punts once. Ever.

The Rams who looked horrible all pre season with their back ups and turned their roster over completely so they are now the youngest team in the league went to Seattle and slammed the Seahawks. Without Kupp their number 1 offensive weapon. They had a 5th round pick at wr who went for over 100 yards and a little guy in Atwell who did the same. Their defense held Seattle to barely over 100 yards passing.

Perhaps the error of the Chargers has been discovered......Staley is no defence genius, quite the contrary, eh.....
