Apparently his brains were in enough of a working order to defeat a Staley run defence....... Tua should have taken 120 million insurance payout and walked from NFL. Based upon zero pressures his brain is good for another week. The gamble is he will earn more than 120 million before his brain is trashed. The concern for him is he won't play the hapless Charger defence each week.....

I don't get any questioning of the offense. The results were clear. We scored 34, 17 in each half. Very balanced, methodical end effective. All this was done with absolutely zero favors by defense or special teams. I saw the offense of a 12+ win team. I saw the defense of a first overall draft pick slot. Actually that's being kind. It was like watching those week one college games where it's Bama vs. Northwestern Coastal Christian Vocational School of Flagstaff. My only questioning of the offense is that we had the ball down 2 points with 1:45 to go on our own 25, needing only 40 yards or so to get in FG range and we failed miserably. These are the gotta have it moments of a game. That’s when you need to step it up in play calling and execution. Not everyone gets the luxury of playing against a Chargers defense. A defense who is inexplicably capable of turning a touchback with 0:09 on the clock into a field goal.

Situational awareness does not seem to be a strength of JC's...... And then he has the audacity to wonder what he can do to get back in the starting lineup... Back to the offense (OT): How do you think QJ will be used (with MW gone for the year)...? I don't think QJ is an exact fit for what MW did for us. MW was a 50/50 jump ball kind of player... while QJ wasn't that kind of player in college. IMO, he's not as physical as MW. QJ was more of a YAC kind of guy. Catch the ball in space, then make a move, make a defender miss, and get up field. How do the Chargers get him in space? What kind of role does DD get? Is he the WR who creates space for QJ (and the other WR's)...? KA, Palmer, and QJ seem to be short/mid-yardage route runners. I think Everett pushes the middle seams... and DD will run the deeper post/flag routes. Moore said he wanted to challenge defenses vertically and horizontally...

I could be wrong, but pretty certain Moore already has a package of plays designed just for QJ. It won't surprise me if we see QJ in motion, creating a small step of separation from man coverage. I don't see him being the deep threat, rather much more likely he is used as an underneath crossing threat. Anything that gets him the ball, in close to full stride, seems like the best approach for him. YAC will come if he can catch the ball while running.....YAC is his strength. I am a hockey guy, so take my views in stride, eh

He should get more targets and I like him with the ball in his hands. He’s a fighter. And Parham isn’t just a RZ guy. We still have options in the passing game with Palmer, hopefully QJ and maybe even DD. DD impressed me in pre season as more than a jet sweep guy. He caught some congested balls. Look what McVay is doing with tutu atwell. I don’t expect much from the run game with Linsley out and Ekeler unlikely. I’d like to see Spiller because he’s heading for Larry Rountree status

There should be enough options against the Raiders... whether run/pass. I'd run it @tillery.

I think they may be scared to run Parham in open field because he is one bad tackle away from jello brains.

J Herbo has to bring the whole package as field leader. He can win this but we need more than arm talent.

Not wishing injury on any player, but this game against the Bills could be a very tough one for him.

Thoughts on QJ? He is getting some heat on the other forums... I'm on the fence about him, its not his fault he is 3rd on the depth chart. At the same time, you don't draft a WR in the 1st round to be 3rd on the depth chart. You guys think he is playing up to expectation so far?

To be fair, nobody had a very good day (including Herbert). Palmer - 3 catches Keenan - 3 catches Everett - 2 catches DD - 2 catches QJ - 1 catch
