The attacks on Herbert are intriguing and I want to talk about it... Is Herbert overrated? Does Moore =/= Lombardi?
Ekeler had 164 yards (117) on the ground but only 3 touches for 8 yards in the 4th quarter of game 1... What's the deal? (Ekeler is drastically underpaid)
KA 6 rec for 76 yards
MW 4 rec for 45 yards
I doubt it is happening, but did Staley influence the offense and request more throws and less runs? There is a level of incompetence on the sideline that has not been addressed from last season...

Run the ball, eat clock, score points. 34 points with an average defense wins this game.
Our defense was just broken. I dont even know what happened it was the "Watch them fly" package.
I can see Staley in the next coaches meeting. "Kellen, I think we are going to need 40 points to win. I know we can hold a team to 37."

I don't get any questioning of the offense. The results were clear. We scored 34, 17 in each half. Very balanced, methodical end effective.
All this was done with absolutely zero favors by defense or special teams.
I saw the offense of a 12+ win team. I saw the defense of a first overall draft pick slot. Actually that's being kind. It was like watching those week one college games where it's Bama vs. Northwestern Coastal Christian Vocational School of Flagstaff.

This post is nominated. Nice summary of the game. We were stopping nothing. Cheetah and Tua went off. We need answers...........It has to change.

My only questioning of the offense is that we had the ball down 2 points with 1:45 to go on our own 25, needing only 40 yards or so to get in FG range and we failed miserably. These are the gotta have it moments of a game. That’s when you need to step it up in play calling and execution.

It appears Ekeler tweaked his ankle/foot in the 3rd qtr.

I listened to it on Sirius FM driving back from Pittsburgh. 1st down blah blah. I was like What ? 2nd down blah blah. I was like WHAT ? 3rd. 4th What what ? Intentional grounding is not what a 268 million dollar QB does in that situation. I love him, but learning moment for sure.

If you watched the game, our last offensive series (with under two minutes to go) was like the stampede scene from the Lion King.
Herbert was Mufasa, the Dolphins defense was the stampeding wildebeest, and Trey Pipkins was Scar- who let Mufasa get crushed, both in the film and this allusion.

Call me an optimist but I do not see the defense as broken. Yes, the D could not contain Miami, but not everyone has the Miami skill set. No pressure gave Tua time to slice and dice with great timing and accuracy. That and a few boneheaded plays by JC/Bosa which should be corrected with proper motivation. The defense will bounce back, but it is still the weak link on the team. The Offense game plan was enough to win and deny clock to Tua-Hill. The players executed well till the last sequence where the line gave way.

The players executed well till the last sequence where the line gave way. I am seeing this from a few sources but I haven't checked it. According to PFF our defense takes over 45% of our cap space and is tops in the league as far as pay goes. So Staley has his guys, at a high cost, and the last two games has given up 67 points. This was our best defensive personal group and we had zero answers.
The defense is broken until proven otherwise. Even if we were able to score 3 more points and win that game I would still think the defense is broken.

Listened to the game at the cottage, and my only thought is Staley needs to hire a true DC, and then get out of the way.

Apparently his brains were in enough of a working order to defeat a Staley run defence....... Tua should have taken 120 million insurance payout and walked from NFL.
