Ouch! This hurts. Now we have another hole in an already weak DL.

Really liked Philon. Thought He had a higher ceiling.

Gonna have to load up on DL in the draft.

Yep. I would have let Mebane go, and retained Philon. Mebane is on the decline; Philon is younger and improving...

Philon is a decent pass rushing DT, but he's a complete liability against the run. He was one of the main reasons that we lost the first game against the Ravens. All this means is that Justin Jones is replacing him at the 3T position and that we will probably draft a 1 Tech in the draft.

Well, I guess that explains it then...so, you're saying Philon is kind of like a poor man's Antwan Barnes...all pass rush and no run stuffing...

Another thing you have to look at is scheme fit. He may do better in Arizona as a 34 DE versus what Bradley wants him to do here with the Chargers. Ideally, a Bradley DT like him needs to free up things for the other guys ie. Bosa and Ingram. Otherwise, teams can just run at us at will and negate our pass rush like what happened towards the end of 2017.

They are short two interior d-linemen.Hopefully they draft and sign some good ones.

Never cared for analysis that cherry picks to prove a point. Was this the only two plays the bolts were in the front? I doubt it.

Well, apparently Philon and our other DT's/NT's didn't do a good enough job in that department, because Bosa and Ingram sure didn't do squat vs. the Cheatriots...

If you have a subscription, you can read the entire thing. He does a great job of breaking a lot of it down. Including showing how the Patriots were going to be a bigger problem for us before the game. I felt that he literally predicted the problems we would have that Sunday.
