The first half was abysmal. Herbert's run woke them up a bit but they were sleepwalking to start that game. The defense seemed to open up once Herbert ran on them. Almost two different games. Expect to see more Herbert running the ball going forward. "Imagine Justin Herbert with a running game"really meant imagine Justin Herbert as the running game

Expect to see more Herbert running the ball going forward. In the offseason I heard an ex-player now commentator talk about QB runs. It was really good. He said you have to have a QB that runs a little. About 50 yards per game was ideal. It really changes the defense if you can do it. He said watch Mahomes in the playoffs. He doesn't have to be Lamar Jackson running all over hell, but getting that 50 or so yards is the key.

Sounds right. It impacts how we play D vs KC.

Meh. They showed some life, tying our highest score of the year before it was over. I'll take that. The first half was abysmal. Herbert's run woke them up a bit but they were sleepwalking to start that game. Yes. Way too conservative. The costly error on a punt snap (2 pts, phew!)may have chilled them. On the other side of halftime, not so bad. We sucked in the 3rd quarter for years. Not vs NO. (or LVR). Good to see a TD in the 3rd and as always, it's how we finish. Chargers 26- Saints 8 looks good, feels good. Next!

that is the first bad snap our long snapper has had his entire career with the bolts. 7 years?

That sure as shit wasn't Tom Brady There is Brady, and then there is everyone else. Peyton? Brees? Rivers? Big Ben? A-A-Ron when he was good. I could go on. Pocket passers have had the most success in the NFL

Ben could because he was so big to bring down. A-A-Ron was actually a very good runner in his youth. Pocket passers have had the most success because there have been FAR FAR more of them than runners. Runners die. Vick and Lamar Jackson are no good ? Jackson has won multiple MVP Awards. Vick: NFL Comeback Player of the Year: In 2010 AP Offensive Player of the Year runner-up: In 2004 Four-time Pro Bowl selection: Including three times in four years between 2002-2005 NFL's all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks: When he retired First quarterback to rush for over 1,000 yards: In a single season

That sure as shit wasn't Tom Brady There is Brady, and then there is everyone else. Brady made me think of a quick, 1.5 sec dump to the slot. Wondering about Herbert and Ladd making that their blindfold, can't miss moneyball. We need to throw at the entire field but having that in our pocket will be nice.

Pocket passers have had the most success in the NFLPocket passers have had the most success in the NFL because they have a solid team of pass catchers to throw to. When the receivers are not getting open, having the QB run option will force the defense to react to another threat. The coverage tends to open up when a QB is a running threat.

QB's that run as a significant part of their style just end up getting Tua'd.....it is that simple.
Big big big money to invest in a QB that might not last seven years.

Vick? Barely sniffed the playoffs. Never came close to winning anything. Say Kaepernick. He's the one who got to the big game. Lamar is fantastic and also one of one.
