Analysis: Tillery will be a fun addition to this Chargers defensive line. He can build upon a strong final season in Notre Dame without a ton of snaps. He will also be playing with some really good defensive linemen, which helps.
Instant Grade: B-plus

I really hope Telesco goes OT in round 2 to add something to the other line. I really don't care who is picked after that, I trust Telesco.
Out of the following guys who should be the target? Are any worth trading up for?
This is a list I found of the best remaining OTs with their pre-draft rank: 19 Cody Ford - Oklahoma 22 Jawaan Taylor - Florida 27 Dalton Risner - Kansas State 45 Greg Little - Ole Miss 56 Yodny Cajuste - West Virginia 79 Max Scharping - Northern Illinios
I included their school so Freak can make some cuts before the discussion begins.
Looks like a big drop off after the 1st/2nd round graded OTs. I think the 2nd is the best place to add one.
Hopefully a draft guru can review this list and provide some feedback.

But another to sign him as the highest paid OT in the league: Brown signed with the Oakland Raiders on a four-year deal worth $66 million with $36.75 million fully guaranteed. The $16.5 million average per year value makes Brown the highest-paid tackle in the league.
I hope Telesco can pick up a quality OT in the 2nd round who can perform well at a fraction of the cost.

I think Tillery has the physical skills but here are my concerns:
"Teams have red flagged Tillery's draft report with serious character concerns. Every source with a handful of teams who went through Notre Dame heard about significant character issues with Tillery. It was so renowned that even during TV broadcasts, there were mentions of Tillery being a bad teammate and that he was trying to change that. Team sources say not only are they concerned about Tillery in the locker room, they also are worried about him failing tests and getting suspensions in the NFL. Tillery is a known partier, so it hurt him to miss out on the Senior Bowl interviews to address those concerns and work on convincing teams that he has grown out of those past behaviors.
For the most part, evaluators like Tillery's on-the-field potential. Some are not fans of him, while others are high on his pro potential with a skill set that combines size, athleticism and quickness. However, even the sources that like Tillery on the field are not sure he will remain on their draft boards because of the off-the-field concerns. "
Here is another one:
"He started 3 of 12 games as a freshman (12 tackles, two for loss) but was suspended for the Fiesta Bowl for violating team rules. Tillery's sophomore year was productive (37 tackles, three for loss in 12 games, 11 starts) but again he had issues, shown by television cameras to be kicking and stepping on players in the team's loss to USC."
I think good character is a really import aspect that must be looked at. Remember how Ryan Leaf worked out.

This is a fair concern. I am not worried about him on this team. This is a veteran locker room that will keep him in line. Plus what Lynn did with King last year after he acted like an idiot on the field last year gives me confidence in the leadership.

He is only 24 I think. With all the edge pressure now days, you need quality there. Obviously the $ amount is bit much, esp for the bolts who were a little CAP strapped.

I get what you are implying, but the veteran players generally lead by example, it is the staff that will keep a player in line, or not. I am not worried about any character issues, as you point out, Lynn knows how to deal with those. Iron fist and all....

Contract management is a really big driver in roster building. I like the player, but very glad TT stayed far away.

I would have to believe that the brass would have picked Isaac Rochell’s brain a little bit to get some insight into those concerns. Not only was Rochell a teammate of Tillery’s for two seasons, he was also in the same position group. That means that they played, practiced and attended meetings meetings together. Additionally, the presence of Mebane in his position group will be a very good influence should any of those reported tendencies emerge. One thing that has me looking forward to seeing what he’s got is that he has a very similar build to the Chefs’ Chris Jones, and we have first hand experience witnessing how disruptive it can be when you have a 6’6” DT pressing the pocket when paired with two elite edge rushers. Add Justin Jones to the mix, and suddenly you have a potentially pocket crushing defensive front. I expect that initially Mebane will be in on running situations while Tillery is brought in for passing, so this should help keep Mebane fresh. As always, we shall see! 🍺

Looks like a big drop off after the 1st/2nd round graded OTs. I think the 2nd is the best place to add one. Hopefully a draft guru can review this list and provide some feedback. I thank you sir for your kind consideration...............now let me see what we have here...........Northern Illinois ? Is that the same school Larry English went to ? Do I need to type anymore ?

Mebane will lead by the iron fist (stealing the freakish one’s vernacular) if necessary. He is more than a lead by example locker room presence, and he will be around Tillery 24/7 given that they play the same position.

It was a PON move, which is good enough for me. But make no mistake villagers, Tillery is because we have Patrick Mahomes in the division, and Brady wasn't bothered at all last postseason.
I said make no mistake at all. Continue kneeling.
