Brugler apparently didn't think we had any questionable picks in this draft: Using a pick on a QB is questionable......plenty of reasonable opinion for using that pick on something else.

Maybe in the first three rounds, but we're talking about the fifth round here. You're basically arguing PON vs BPA again. And as someone who didn't really care for the pick initially, I hope that it turns out as amazing as our Desmond King did in 2017.

Initially at least, it seems like they're grooming Pipkin to take over at LT:

So the plan is to stand pat at RT with Tevi, hope that Pipkins can take over for Okung in 2 years...

I still think there has to be a plan to bring someone else in at RT.
I believe the front office is waiting to see what Lamp has to offer and see if he can compete with Tevi.
If that doesn't work there may be an available FA left that they have their eye on or a late cut that falls into their lap (similar to Slauson).
They can't be finished at OT yet, gulp, at least I hope not.

They can't be finished at OT yet, gulp, at least I hope not. Based on everything that has occurred this offseason, including what the coaches have said, they seem to want Lamp at one of the guard positions. My prediction is that they want Lamp at the RG position because they still feel that Feeney can improve at LG from last season. Also watching some of the games again, I noticed that there was more miscommunication issues between Schofield and Tevi. When Lamp supplants Schofield (and I believe that he will barring some stupid luck), it will help stabilize the right side. Much like how Clary helped out Fluker.
As for Tevi, despite what everyone else feels on this board, Lynn and the coaching staff are apparently higher on him than us. We all thought it was liars month when Lynn said these things below, but what happened in the FA and the draft showed that it was true so far. Let's all hope that Tevi pulls a Dielman then in his second season starting.

Pipkin at LT! No wonder they picked a QB in the 5th

Doesn't help much if you're continually beat on inside moves because you're leaning outside to compensate for slow feet. Tevi is a weakness teams will take advantage of until we draft a real OT.

That was a great read. Thanks! Two big hurdles, and I pray he is up to them. Playing NFL DE's and LB's. No talky talk in the world is going to help you there. The other hurdle is learning the Chargers scheme, techniques, etc. He can do it. Needs to work his butt off learning this summer.
He gets NO pass from me because of the third round selection. There is no sitting out. Waiting 1-2 years. OL in round 3 ? You contribute right now. Make the top 5, at least 6 on the line.

The article gives me hope that we may have finally found a OT in the draft. It's a good read - chargerswire.usatoday.com/2019/05/15/8-things-to-know-about-chargers-rookie-ot-trey-pipkins/
