So the Raptors title defense comes to an end. Ultimately, I think the biggest problem in the series was Siakim not being ready to be the “Batman” of a team in the playoffs. He was pretty bad in this series, including last night. He will get there though. I do think the Raptors blew some great opportunities late in the game, which was certainly winnable, but Boston definitely deserves credit as well. Marcus Smart is one hell of a player, who to me was the MVP of the series. Gotta give props to Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown as well, 2 young guys who sure come up in big moments as well. Tatum in particular is on the rise to superstardom. It ended sooner than I would have liked, but I’m very proud of my boys for putting together one hell of a season. In all honesty, during the regular season, this team was more fun to watch then last year’s team was. Only 5 teams have followed up a Championship season, with higher winning percentage in the following regular season, and these Raptors (with no lottery picks on the roster) are one of them. Lots of great moments, including a 30 point comeback and a 15 game win streak. Then there were great playoff moments as well, such as a record setting 100 bench points during the final game of the 1st round, an amazing buzzer beating play with their backs against the wall, and a thrilling double OT win to force Game 7. They kept me well entertained for many months, and for that I’m thankful. Miami & Boston should be a great series. Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s a battle for 2nd Place either, because both teams are definitely capable of winning it all ! Enjoy your football season... Tatum has the tools to be a superstar in the league. I didn’t see him really dominate and take over but that will come. Raptors are a gritty bunch. I told you before that Siakam wasn’t gonna be the answer for ya. Glad you enjoyed the regular season. The bubble burst last night. Back to not advancing past the second round for the Raptors. You need a superstar in the NBA and without Kawhi the Raptors are the little train that couldn’t. Miami and Boston are both well rounded teams. Certainly more than the Lakers.

They lost Game 7 by 5 points, and 2 of those points were free throws on an intentional foul in the final seconds. So before that, it was a one possession game with less than a minute to go. It doesn’t get much closer than that. I’m sorry, but that doesn’t spell out that you need one of the top players in the league to make up that one possession you fell short on, in a tight Game 7. They were right there, and if one or two plays go differently in last night’s game, they have a very good chance to be back in the NBA Finals (without Kawhi). Neither Boston nor Miami have a top flight superstar, and both have a legit chance to win the Championship, just like the Raptors would have if they had advanced last night.

That’s the Raptors history until Kawhi hit that buzzer beater that danced on the rim against the sixers last year. I’m glad you enjoyed the season. Nobody’s gonna be checking for the Raptors in the foreseeable future. You got lucky against a warrior team missing 2/3 of its best players. Cherish it. Haley’s comet

Talky talk is over. History is written. No Leonard = No Repeat It's an LA thing, baby. (I know I hid underneath a rock during the entire playoffs, but I didn’t want to risk putting my foot in my mouth again !!!!) I wasn't under a rock, I was in the Bubble.

They would not have beat a healthy GS team last year. But at the same time if 2/3 of KC came down with the flu, I'd take the win all day long !!!

Didn't they have a near record comeback last year ? That's a crazy niche for a team to have. Down 25-30, but nobody leaves the arena because the Freaks might do it again !!! HA

Wow! Clippers give up a 3-1 lead and lose game 7 to Denver in shocking fashion. Another second half with less than 30 points. Just pathetic. Sorry Kawhi. Poor game 7. Paul George was horrible. Meanwhile Jamal Murray and Jokic are both great. Love those guys

Meanwhile Jamal Murray and Jokic are both great. Love those guys Doesn’t surprise me how bad George played on the big stage, that’s who he is. To think they could have had Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (a budding superstar) and Danilo Gallinari out there instead of George as well, my goodness ! I guess you gotta put that one on Kawhi, for making the demands that he did. Despite the season outcome, Kawhi was a great fit with the Clippers. He definitely played the most complete ball of his career, and spread it around better than he ever has. George on the other hand was more of a problem than anything else, and what they gave up to acquire him, is currently looking like it may be one of the worst gambles ever. They’ve still got another year to get it done, but this was a HUGE blown opportunity, not having to play 7 road games against the Lakers in the Staples Center. Next year Golden State will be back too. They’ll definitely have a tougher task in front of them next year. I don’t like George, and Marcus Morris is a jerk, so for those reasons I didn’t want to see the Clippers win it all. But other than that, I take no pleasure in this...

Miami is LOCKED IN too !
It’d be nice to see Denver win it all, since they are the only one of the 4 remaining who don’t have a bunch of trophies already in the case. But wow is Miami looking like a team of destiny at this time. When Jimmy Butler chose Miami as his destination last summer, so many people were scratching their heads, but it didn’t take too long to make that look like a brilliant decision...

Kawhi has a terrible shooting night. Can’t have that from your two best players and expect to win. He Clippers are saying they didn’t have the chemistry to do it. They certainly looked like a team out of sorts the last 3 games. I do like the nuggets team and coach.

Speaking of Denver, a blast from the past name is being mentioned as a potential head coach next season: Denver Asst Coach Wes Unseld, Jr., son of the late great Wes Unseld.
