I love Bosa and agree that he’s an impact player. But we’re going to have big problems resigning him. He’s going to want Donald or Mack money and he’s not on their level. He’s already shown the will to hold out over much less. Finally, the jury is out on Bosa because of health. His foot isn’t fixed and may never be. I want to see a full season from him. If Bosa has a long term foot ailment, he could hold out until the sun stops rising and there will still be no team willing to give him top money. Yes, you can be assured the Bolts will be behind the whispers about his foot as other teams look into signing him. You can't fake or hide a foot issue...... it's not an if

Bosa affects every part of the defense with his presence, while the Chargers simply shift gears when MG is missing (a bit more passing, a bit less rushing and very little drop-off in overall production). Unlike MG, some franchise (if not the Chargers) is going to pay Bosa close to $20 million / season at a position that is greatly valued in the NFL (unlike RB). The Chargers are an entirely different defense with Bosa on the field, and this is coming from a dude who was very critical about Joey’s rookie holdout over what for one player is a rounding error. Them’s the facts, jack!! 🤷♂️ 😉 I love Bosa and agree that he’s an impact player. But we’re going to have big problems resigning him. That's the one "if" where the question will be answered in 2019, before the Bolts have to deal with the extension offer amount. If it's a long-term foot issue, then the mega-deal goes "poof". Otherwise, Bosa is going to get top-of-the-market DE money, whether it be from the Chargers or another franchise. As such, the Chargers need to be prepared to make that offer going into the season, so there's no way that they will pay Gordon near what he is asking for (a Gurley contract).

Have you seen the highlights on Jeremy Cox? We may have Gordon's replacement already on the roster.

I am sure that he has no personal inside info on the situation given that the Chargers front office probably has firewall set up given his position at NFL Network, but LT offers his take on the Gordon situation. It pretty much mirrors my read of the situation with the exception that LT thinks that a trade could happen if Gordon isn't happy with the Chargers offer. www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap3000001036539/L-T-offers-his-take-on-Melvin-Gordon-s-contract-situation-with-BoltsI don't see a trade happening because in order to entice a team to sign MG to Bilbo's demand of a Gurley-type contract, the Chargers aren't likely to get more than a ham sammich in return should a trade happen, and I believe that Gordon for six games is better than whatever the best trade offer will be.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to send LT out with the company position so that MG III isn’t hearing it filtered by his agents

I would rather go play with the Lions down in my den than type this, but I'll do it anyway:
That was an excellent, excellent take. Post Nominated POTD.
You are not fooling anyone, as we all know you only go play with the lions after they are quite full and way sleepy..... If they were in a coma I wouldn't want to do it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Not even near them.)

Have you seen the highlights on Jeremy Cox? We may have Gordon's replacement already on the roster. You may say that I’m a dreamer But I’m not the only one It's very seldom I feel comfortable enough to post. I just always enjoy reading everyone's insight. This time I actually have some knowledge on the comment.
Old Dominion University is the closest college to where I live, so I got to see this guy play a couple times. Let's just say that I would not want to be a safety having this guy running at me. Strong, quick, and can definitely be a preseason surprise. He put up 130 yards and 2 touchdowns on Virginia Tech, averaging 6.5 yards with a long of 40 yards. While Virginia Tech is clearly not what it use to be, this was still a CUSA team handling an ACC team that is typically known for strong defense.
I am no fan of Old Dominion University, but it is an interesting school to keep an eye on. They brought back football in 2009 and have done a decent job at taking recruits that Virginia Tech would normally easily get.
With regards to the Melvin Gordon situation, I personally don't want to see him go, but I think if he wants to fight this trend of devaluing running backs, he is going to have show he can stay on the field consistently and pass the 1,000 mark again. I hope to see him on the field this year.

Listen people, I know the current conventional wisdom is that RB's are devalued but if y'all are comfortable with a platoon of 3 UDFA's and a 7th rounder, have at it.

Would love to see a solution develop like they pulled off in Pittsburgh. Thanks and keep posting please.

Would love to see a solution develop like they pulled off in Pittsburgh. Thanks and keep posting please. James Connor was born, played high school and college in the Pittsburgh region. He was already in his second year with the Steelers when he "broke out" last season. He was a terrific ACC RB at Pitt, and was player of the year in the ACC. Steelers knew exactly what they were getting in their own backyard when they spent a 3rd round pick on him. If you want all of that solution to develop, it will have to start at next years draft, borrow Pitt's scouting team, and find either a USC or UCLA RB with Conners credentials.
