Without the proverbial 'pot' matching the growth, I just do not see shifting a greater percentage of the available resources to a single player as a tenable position. There have been articles implying Brady accepted less in order to allow the club more resources for other positions, which on the surface seems to recognize the negative impact of too much to a single player. I have no idea if there is any truth to the writers contention, but I do believe numbers such as we are talking won't work long term. YET teams do it all the time. Mahommes is going to get paid. as Freak says. Book it. Yes, they certainly have been doing this for years. The issue as I see it is the number has grown to such a level that the impact on affording the rest of the roster is becoming quite problematic. Does Mahomes look at the Brady example, and follow along? Taking a 30 mil/yr contract versus 40 mil/yr, and having a club that wins because it can afford other talent, seems to be a wise move. Do you agree that Brady's 'lost' earnings from his contract have been made up by endorsements, endorsements he would never have seen if the club had not been winning? Mahomes will get paid.....nobody questions that. After a certain point, it becomes more about winning than earning.....

Well that's the ballpark Butterfly Mahomes, my little dancing fairy is going to get.
You roll the dice with Injuries, that just comes with the territory. Big Ben got hurt after he received a 5 million dollar bonus this year. Then they still had to pay 21.2 million dollars to him in salary.

I'm sure you guys are paying Price a pretty penny to stand around a net doing nothing much. Pens pay Crosby. KC is going to PAY Mahomes.
The Brady stuff is true. He has taken less so they could sign good players on the team. With wife's money and his money he sacrificed bigger checks to chase trophies. He's a giver.
So far they have no running game, and don't need one either. Money saved. Mahomes is carrying them with an excellent TE and a blazing fast WR. Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill have them hosting the Divisional Round of the playoffs Sunday. Pay those 3, and evidently you can have low/ rookie contacts at all the other ball skill positions.
AGAIN, the importance of the QB position.

So I bought down the half a point.
At KC -7.5 it was -115. You had to put up 115 dollars to win 100 dollars
At KC -7 it was -140. You had to put up 140 to win 100.

As the pay disparity grows, and the need to have more and more players on ELC's, will that need become so acute that they do not fill all the roster spots due to needing the cost savings? While I understand your view on importance of the QB, are not all of the positions important? The OC touches the ball every single play, seems like he is pretty important, yes? You could have a roster of all stars and not win the championship........keep that in mind.

Only 12 of 32 teams make the playoffs. You look at this years list and I bet it is filled with good/elite QB's. Our own Franchise QB decided to play catch with the defenses this year and we were 5-11.
Mahomes and Rodgers are in the Conf. Finals. You can argue they are the two best QB's in their conf's. (Jackson this year in the AFC would be part of the talk. Drew Brees in the NFC too. All 4 made the playoffs.) Hell Seattle went two games deep in the playoffs with no RB's, no TE to speak of, and an average defense. How ? Russell Wilson, that's how.
All of this are some reasons teams lose their freaking minds about QB's. Over value in pay, over value in the draft.

Give an average QB plenty of time, and that average QB will produce above average results. Same goes for a RB....... Success is found in the trenches more often than not. Yea, you need talent pretty much everywhere to get it done.....but the Bolts have the talented QB, they need the talented OL.

I noticed you didn't mention the other half of the QBs that are in the conference finals...
