And Luck retires. 3 HOF’ers lost.
Big Ben era is over.
Brees may come back but probably too late.

People come back better from tommy John surgery
In NO's division, week 15 might not be too late.

Big Ben was ready to hang it up a few times already. People may come back but those are people that work at it. Big ben ain't coming back from the donut shop.

This is good for Rivers stats to keep climbing up the ladder, especially if NYG benches Eli. Rivers can easily get to #5 all time passing yards by the end of next year if healthy and productive passing up Marino but will be far behind Favre, Peyton, Brady and Brees. I hope for Rivers to play several more years at a high level ie. Brees and Brady and break all records and get 1 or more rings.
Rivers sat his first 2 years, Ben and Eli didn't, this would be a little justice to pass them up, he's already passed them up in TD's.
It's amazing the stats Favre has when everyone seems to think Rodgers is one of the best ever? Rodgers slightly younger than Rivers and way down on the list to where I don't think there's any way he catches Favre, so who was the better Packer? Each have a ring.

One note regarding Eli:
If he starts and the Giants lose this week, he will have a sub-.500 career record as a starter.
As for Ben: what shocked me was how lumbering he looked in the opener. Although he was never what you would consider an elegant runner, he was always uber-strong and effective. He looked to me like he was on his last legs.
Although it’s very feasible that he could come back from the Tommy John surgery at age 38, it’s going to take a huge amount of work and therapy time to do it. Does Ben still have that in the tank? I’m not so sure.

Looks like the one and only thing I care about here, is that either Brees or Tom Brady throw at least 18 more TD passes this year. If it can’t be Brees, I guess I gotta rely on Brady.
If one of them wanna throw 8 TD’s in a single game, that would be a nice added bonus...

Brady would not have 6 rings if it weren't for Bill Bellicheat. Brees can have it and Brady can join Big Ben this year is my hope.

Once a certain amount has been banked, there is a large percentage of players that prioritize other aspects over money. At least I can comfortably say that about NHL, and just suspect it about all other professional athletes.

At least I can comfortably say that about NHL, and just suspect it about all other professional athletes. You apparently haven't kept up with the 10 year old news that 78% of NFL players are bankrupt or under financial stress within 2 years after retirement... NBA's not quite so bad. 60% are bankrupt in 5 years. Haven't seen anything comparable reported about the NHL. While your suspicion seems perfectly rational to me, the presented statistics do not support it.

Rapersburger has made a statement that he plans on honoring his 3 year contract and plans on coming back next year to fulfill it.
