I will commit to Rivers, Ekler/JJ, and KA/MW, and HH......then fix the OL by drafting the following: RD 1......Alaric Jackson OT RD 2.....Malik Harrison ILB RD 3.....Saahdig Charles OT RD 4.....T J McCoy OC RD 5.....Damien Lewis OG RD 6.....Christian Rector Edge RD 7.....Jordon Scott DL1T I would add even more OL via FA if the deal appeared wise. (I am quite cautious about FA's, but this OL needs fixing now, not three years from now) I've been saying that for the last 5/6 years. Your post is spot on!

Sure. Conceptually, it feels comforting. But I don't buy it.
I guess this presumes that our shit defense is shit solely because James is hurt? With him, we suddenly don't make pedestrian 3rd string qbs look all pro? Our marquee bookend edge rushers finally get to them? Our talented DTs can suddenly stop the run? Our super receivers suddenly are able to get separation? Our linebackers suddenly learn how to tackle? Our RBs hold onto the ball and can actually make a decisive move and make a man miss? Our QB can make good decisions and equally good throws? Our kicker stays in one piece? Our punt returner doesn't just hand the ball to the other team?

I'm committing to Rivers, also... and fixing the OL. Two FA's and two draft picks. Cutting some of the injury concerns to free up money for FA's.
Cuts: Okung, Pouncey, and Perryman. $25 million cap savings. Use that money to re-sign Rivers. That would leave $55 million for FA and rookie contracts.
FA signings: OC/OG and a RT. OC's: JC Tretter, Matt Skura, Connor McGovern, Stefan Wisniewski... OG's: Joe Thuney, Graham Glasgow, Earl Watford, Tom Compton... RT: Jack Conklin, Bryan Bulaga, Daryl Williams, Dennis Kelly...
RD 1: OT Alex Leatherwood.
RD 2: DT Marvin Wilson.
RD 3: ILB Joe Bachie
RD 4: RB Chuba Hubbard
RD 5: WR JK Hill
RD 6: OC/OG Frederick Mauigoa
RD 7: CB Damon Arnette

Keep in mind that you also need money for Bosa, Henry and King (among others). Only if they plan on keeping those players.........think about that one. The front office will have lost their minds and have done a 180 in their team-building philosophy if re-signing those three players isn't a high offseason priority in 2020. Another thing to keep in mind is that the savings from cutting Pouncey, Okung and Perryman loose won't be as large as Nutty estimates (signing bonus deferments and guaranteed 2020 money cut into the savings) and we won't know the 2020 cap amount until well after the 2019 season concludes.

Who said anything about resigning them.......perhaps they get traded for picks, or...... Plenty of ways to look at this puzzle. For instance if you believe you cannot resign Bosa, or can't afford him, trade him for picks. I am not saying that is the plan, all I am saying is it could be.

Henry and King are UFA's after the conclusion of the season, and the Chargers ain't going to get equivalent value for their 24-year-old undeniable leader of the defense. You don't trade a Bosa. They can afford to sign him, and they will ... bank on it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA He's a freak clown goofus that couldn't lead a cub scout troop. He's a really good DE who just so happens to be a goober. Bosa leader ? Oh we DO like to interject our little fantasies into reality, don't we. Don't even try to respond to your destruction either. He ain't calling plays, teaching anyone, or huddling the defense together for profound rallying speeches and instruction. "Undeniable" leader. I can deny that he is. You can give him your 43 million dollars a year for 15 years, but please don't say Undeniable Leader when he isn't. Kneel now.

While a good GM will always listen to an offer, the only players I would call unavailable would be Rivers, KA and James......the rest can be had for the right deal. I understand where the strong view about resigning Bosa comes from Joe, but what would you do if Bosa/agent refuse any attempts to get a new deal in place, and simply say at contract's end Bosa will be moving on? TT would need to do something this off season.......with ALL options under consideration. You think or see Bosa as top shelf, I kinda see Bosa in a similar light as Gordon.....plenty of talent, but...

Ingram is just like Bosa, really talented, but not likely to ever get a jacket. It is still really early in his career, but I can see James standing at that podium in a Gold jacket some day.......

Chargers have Bosa under contract for 2020 (5th year option). I would certainly save some of that $55 million (2 OL wouldn't cost too much) and roll over to 2021 (to re-sign Bosa). Hunter and King won't cost as much as Bosa. And as of now, Rivers would be off the books in 2021.

I'd go out and sign two starters in FA... preferably a center and a right tackle. My 6th round IOL would be for depth behind whoever replaces Schofield... Example: LT (Leatherwood) LG (Lamp/Feeney) OC (JC Tretter) RG (Quissenberry) RT (Conklin).

A) Absolutely, Chargers have lost their minds if they don't attempt to keep those 3 players (Bosa, Henry, King). B) Dead cap money was figured in to my estimated savings: Okung- $13.5 mil. Pouncey- $4.75 mil. Perryman- $6.55 mil. = $24.8 million in savings. $7 million dead cap money. If they decided they needed even more cap space, they could cut Mebane ($4.25 million savings, $2 million dead cap).
