Lets all get something straight... To think this team is beating KC or Baltimore in the playoffs with almost any QB is wishful thinking. Mahomes and Jackson are the real deal and any future Chargers success will go through them. Although I still think Jackson will have a short career... He is reckless. This team will not see a Superbowl with PR or Taylor... BUT Taylor gives us a chance to build a team (specifically defense) around a potential young competitor to Mahomes and Jackson. I could ask you a bunch of tough unfair questions about how you plan to spend the money saved by dumping Rivers and rolling with Taylor, but they are unfair. Suffice it to say, all GM's work to build the most talented roster they can, then turn it over to HC's that try to mold that group into a winning group each week. Only a single organization has managed to go undefeated, so it is fair to say both Mahomes and Jackson will lose at some point in the season.....so fear not, and be that team. Thats the million dollar question isn't Bobby... Do you want to go fast?? Can we trust TT to spend that money wisely and draft appropriately? I'm not so sure... You can ask me all the unfair questions you want but at the end of the day this team is still missing the playoffs.

Do you see the bolts getting to the Superbowl with Taylor? I see a 9/7 season at best and that is only because of the strength of the supporting players. Taylor does not add anything next year; get what you can for him now. Rivers will be given an offer and he will sign it. Take that to the bank. I would like to see a QB picked at #6 ( if one is there) to sit and learn from Rivers for a season. If Rivers goes down, then the Rookie or Stick will get playing time and the bolts will be in line for another top ten pick. Lets all get something straight... Is that the same late season Mahomes we beat last season and the same Jackson we beat in Baltimore in the playoffs ?
Our return to glory 2020 will be epic. As simple as health.
Lets get it REAL straight. they ain'ta gonna "roll with Taylor", and that's the name of that tune.
Too much good young talent to throw away the season on back Up Billy.
Derwin James said so.
Goodnight now.

I know, you think it is Rivers......and you are correct, it is Gordon as well, and and and and.....

Nope... It is Jackson and Mahomes a season more experience, MVP numbers and play, it is also a KC and Baltimore team that is doing alot better staying competitive than we are. PR is a year older, Ingram is a year older, we have another years worth of injuries, another year closer to having to pay Bosa, and another season of medicore play from this team. If we do roll with Taylor, you can bet the farm it will be temporary. Especially if QB jr. can ball... Derwin James and Bosa are great building blocks if we can put it together. Good nite freak!

Can we trust TT to spend that money wisely and draft appropriately if they decide not to renew PR?? I can't wait for draft day to see!!

I think they'll have a chance of picking the #1 OT in this years draft but I allow that it could also be time to draft the eventual replacement for PR so if the QB they like is on the board, I expect they'd have to go that route. I do think getting the OT is very important because our ROT is pretty bad and our LOT has frequent health problems. If they fill in the OL needs during the FA period, I'd love to see them nab a WR. Cee Cee Lamb looks great to me.
I honestly believe this team could go right back to being a contender with an improved OL. Right now our QB is under duress too much and the RB's are running into brick walls. If we can't improve the OL we can expect to be drafting high again next year.

Taylor is a good place holder I don't know how else to say it more than I already have. I just said Taylor is not your franchise... Draft the future in the 1st. You have claimed the last few weeks and months that the biggest problem this offense has is the O line, now you are saying those 1 or 2 players wont get us a Superbowl? Now you are saying quality FA O-Oline is a pipe dream? I honestly believe we have nearly the same opinion, you just want to hold onto PR for some weird reason like he is magically going to change and after 17 years something will finally be different?? Let PR go and change this teams identity... The biggest detriment to this offence is the lack of talent in the OL group. The starting five yesterday should not be starting....... FA is a gamble, and it is rare that a club will not resign quality OL, so getting quality in FA is a challenge. What I hate though is you are almost assuredly over paying for the production you get. Is that a wise spending? This is where those GM's earn their big dollars.....making these decisions. TT's record on OL is not great..... I have no problem moving on from Rivers, it is going to happen in the next two years, I just question the timing of it. Move on, but be smart about it, or accept QB hell until you find that next franchise QB. We are already in QB hell. We started on the road to QB hell years ago. The question is if everyone has accepted that reality, and then, what is the team going to do about it: Pay Rivers while they look around and perform at a higher level while paying the cap hit piper and reducing the rest of the team, or save cap space, try to build a stronger team for the next franchise QB, and accept the likelihood of lower performance for a while and pay the fan support piper. But let’s at least admit that we have been and are in QB hell already.

It was a silver lining to make everyone think about tactics and not long-term strategy.

So was Kellen Moore.......didn't translate to the next level. YGTBSM. Agreed. I see elite arm talent. Decisiveness. Leadership. Mobility. Of course we would undergo our medical diligence before doing this. But this a potential legitimate franchise QB. The comp is not Kellen Moore. Much too frail. It is Steve Young. You will remember him as the QB who beat the tar out of us in the Super Bowl.

Deion Sanders told Jerry Rice before the game "We're gonna beat them by 20 points." "We'll beat the brakes off of them."
We were a cute team, playing an elite team.
