Agreed. I see elite arm talent. Decisiveness. Leadership. Mobility. Of course we would undergo our medical diligence before doing this. But this a potential legitimate franchise QB. The comp is not Kellen Moore. Much too frail. It is Steve Young. You will remember him as the QB who beat the tar out of us in the Super Bowl. Any chance we could just use everyone else's medical diligence ? LOL truth! Nominated!

?? Review everyone. Check the budget pros & cons. I'm inclined to go young but realize we need some vet leadership. Rivers replacement is a need but PR may be kept if he makes it easy. He sure as heck would not get long term or top dollar from me. I would not re-up inconsistent, expensive Gordon. Mebane is out. We didn't get enough production from DL or OL

IMO, keep rivers 1-2 years and draft his successor. Most reports say the kid out of Oregon. Why not package a deal with Gordon and try to move up for the LSU kid.
Then, please fix the middle of our defense. Me and is done and Perryman is hurt every game. The old man was a waste of an experiment too.
Finally, get some decent OT’s via FA. At least one then draft another.

Potential QB targeting teams that are drafting before us:
- Dolphins - Bengals
We will end up with Tagovailoa or Herbert in 1st.
I can't see Lynn and Rivers relationship going forward.
One will need to go.
Hmm they can sign Mariota, do you remember those rumors ?

I don't think the Bengals will budge from the 1st pick or Burrows, But one can hope... If I had to guess right now, I'd say we likely draft Tagovailoa because the Dolphins will likely snag Herbert. We'll resign PR to give Tua time to recover and rehab.

Not quite yet, but there is nothing that the Bolts will do to prevent it....such as a tag.

We are already in QB hell. We started on the road to QB hell years ago. The question is if everyone has accepted that reality, and then, what is the team going to do about it: Pay Rivers while they look around and perform at a higher level while paying the cap hit piper and reducing the rest of the team, or save cap space, try to build a stronger team for the next franchise QB, and accept the likelihood of lower performance for a while and pay the fan support piper. But let’s at least admit that we have been and are in QB hell already. You must be to young to recall what QB hell is really like. This franchise has had many years of real QB hell. Rivers is still an above average QB.

If the team is going to resign Rivers then at least give him a chance to win. Don't waste a first-round pick on his replacement. Get that OT the team needs. You want to try to get the QB of the future? See if you can pick up Rosen for a 6th round pick. The guy may be a bust, but he's played behind the worst OL in football the last two seasons. He'll be cheap and finally have some talent around him. It sucks if Rosen busts and Herbert turns out to be great. But if Herbert is great and we drafted Rivers we'll have wasted 2 years and 50 million in cap space that could have been used to get him some help.

Rivers is still an above average QB. I’ve been a fan since Fouts. I think you may have missed my point: It’s not that things couldn’t be worse, or that worse wouldn’t be more acutely felt/seen. Rather, that we’ve been in QB hell for some time with a declining and more irrational Rivers and no clear path forward. Spani and TT let the team drive straight into the wall — the QB hell path they committed to years ago.

There’s very low odds that you can draft an OT that could be starting game 1 at a championship caliber level. Your desired outcome would require veterans, drafting dev/depth, and a lot of luck.

Exactly!!! I been saying this for months... Even the best rookies need time to adjust to the game. PR doesn't have that kind of time anymore.
