After going 12-4 in 2018 there was reason to believe the team could put together a run in 2019. Now, one year later, we are in disarray. Question mark at the most important position and nothing hopeful to build on. Lynn has not established an identity with the team in 3 seasons. The roster has holes that can’t be easily fixed. The team has no home field advantage and is a bit of a laughingstock for it. The players finally voiced their frustration with it. The FO is nothing to envy and the owners are in the top 4 of worst in the NFL and maybe all of sports. The good players they have will likely be looking to get out and the only FA’s they could attract are guys at the end of the line or without other interest. What am I missing? You failed to acknowledge the massive fan following.......

Right before San Fran proved it’s still a rushing league I guess. My point was that PM’s scrambling ability isn’t a prerequisite for success. It’s no more important now than it was 10 years ago, people are just overreacting because there are some great mobile QBs right now. Especially here after watching our pocket QB get mauled for most of that timeframe. Well done in the discussion. It feels like pocket passers are getting old to me. Brady and Rivers had great career's, but they are winding down. You have to be able to move a little. When Pipkens is blocking for you I would recommend you move a LOT. Rivers running form could be described as drunk woman slowly being chased by no one. Check out the playoff teams where QB's can move. Jackson, Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, Watson, Allen, Wentz, Brees can at least move. I’ll give you this much, PR’s complete lack of mobility is detrimental to the team. I doubt it’s an issue moving forward though. The Chargers seem to be ready to move on and Tyrod along with all of the top 3 QBs in the draft can move.

Missing nothing Moe... DJ was a huge loss among our other injured regulars but I think the key was PR's decline before our very eyes. Whether it was physical, mental, or a combination of those two, I think the players realized PR was having issues and the team mirrored that decline.

Mahommes is why you need a good young fast QB. Killer safeties to keep him in the pocket, bring him down if he gets loose and dominant rushing attack to keep him off the field, or at least so I surmise. SF will be a great match-up opponent. If they can keep the ball on the ground, they should win.

Do you think TT concluded that Rivers was the problem and won't re-up him ?

I get this sense that there was a bit of a power struggle between Lynn and Rivers, and with the statements of support for Lynn staying as HC, Rivers will just move on. Lynn is not winning a Super Bowl as a HC......ever. Rivers is not winning the Super Bowl as a Bolt. I doubt anyone named Spanos will ever hold up the Lombardi......

I think Lynn needs a better OC than Steichen. The other 2 statements are spot on.

If I had to form a theory based upon loose pieces of thread, it might go like this:
Lynn to Whiz: "Rivers is doing loose canon outlaw play out there and you better stop him."
Whiz to Rivers: "Stop doing loose canon play out there."
Rivers (who said this on camera): "I don't care how many INT's I have, I'm not going to stop throwing it up."
Lynn to Whiz: "He wouldn't stop so bye bye to you."
Lynn to TT: "I don't want Rivers back."
