Lamp out for the season with a broken ankle. He's an injury bust. No other way to view it. Verrett actually played much more than Lamp has. Sad. What a horror show. The Bolts are eternally in one of those shows. Someone must have a copy of "the ring" and they keep passing it around

It is ridiculous to hold a GM accountable when utilizing hindsight. Not a chance anyone predicted Lamp as an injury bust pick. Most organizations will hold a GM accountable by evaluating their past performance? Isn't that hindsight? How else can you do it without looking back? You are referring to holding a GM accountable by looking at how a trade turned out, or a signing, be it the money or production. When looking at the drafting of Lamp, it seemed pretty universal among the draft gurus and media, that the pick was as solid as it gets. Lamp getting injured, an acl at that, is far beyond any GM's ability to predict. Holding TT accountable for the Lamp pick is a fans folly, not something found in a FO. That said, TT certainly has plenty of missed picks, all of which fall on his shoulders if he is in fact the guy making the final decision. I understand the consternation going through the fan base, but in my view, replacing the GM at this point is a mistake. I would be working on a new HC, an offence leaning one, and say good bye to AL and Whiz at season end.

I would be working on a new HC, an offence leaning one, and say good bye to AL and Whiz at season end. I don't think I ever said that, but OK. Yes, I do think that a GM evaluation should look in hindsight at drafts, signings, trades, and money management in relationship to production. My opinion is the TT has not been stellar in his attempts. The recent O-Line draft picks are lacking, and his O-Line FA pickups are expensive, old, and hurt. This year's draft class has been ineffective. This year's biggest FA (T Davis) looks like he is out of gas. The front office/player relations has caused big names players to miss camp and end up hurt (Bosa) or not in game form (MGIII) or kept the wrong talent (Benjamin/Inman vs T Williams). These things point to the GM. Yes, AL needs to get the act together (particularly second half adjustments) , but he can only work with what's available.

Someone rolled up on Lamps ankle, a good GM would have known that would happen.

Someone rolled up on Lamps ankle, a good GM would have known that would happen. A fair point. There are two kinds of busts being discussed here; 1) Lamp was always a bust, and the GM/office should have predicted it based on evidence, and 2) things just didn’t work out. Right now the latter is true, but the former could be, too.

As I said, blaming TT for injuries is a fans folly, not any FO.

Somehow, if he was stronger and didn’t fall down, someone wouldn’t have rolled on his ankle. Maybe if he drank more milk and done ankle workouts, he wouldn’t be where he is now. 😏

This is a bawk bawk chicken post because you work for a front office.
boltgang is correct. He picked him, he is responsible.
I do not work in the FO, I work for the owner. It is ridiculous to hold a GM accountable when utilizing hindsight. Not a chance anyone predicted Lamp as an injury bust pick. Kind of a Robert Kraft thing, eh ?
