Mahomes and Watson were in the same draft. Rivers, Eli and Roethlisberger were in the same draft. Marino, Elway and Kelly were in the same draft. Sometimes there’s a gold mine True but it's not the rule. Top 10 QB's are roughly 50% successful, later picks are lower %. Many are developed into success, many are not. It's always about team & fit and is never a lock either way. You takes your best shot. That is all a team can do. The last lock that I heard in the draft was Andrew Luck. Straight called can't miss. That's crazy praise coming from people that don't like putting themselves on the line like that. Take our best shot equals Burrow. Sell the farm.

Garoppolo, a 2nd rd draft pick is NOT Mahommes level, yet Niners are scoring note points, allowing fewer than KC in the playoffs. Go figure. I like dominant trenches, great D, good, not great QB for the win. Outscoring opponents isn't as difficult with great D, solid STs. Uh huh....................................freaky. I am picturing a jim + Mebane scenario....l..............

Now what ? You guys won't sell the farm for Burrow. Tua is hurt. Herbert is falling. What do i have left ? ...............Bridgewater TT, PAY THE MAN !!!! Herbert is said by the experts to be far and away the best QB at the Senior bowl practices.
I'll tell you this - if we wait for a sure thing like Elway or P. Manning to come along, we may never have another good QB. If you are of the opinion that we must take a QB at six - you can be sure you will be taking a chance because only Burrows looks to have it all together - the rest of them all have flaws in their games. If was TT, I'd go after Bridgewater in FA period. He's a safer pick than the young QB's in the draft. That move would also allow you to take BPA at #6.
Right now I'd be inclined to take a quality vet FA OG and a #6 OT. We'll very probably have a choice from Thomas, Wirfs & Wills. I'm a Wirfs fan. Way athletic for his size, very strong upper & lower body. Give Tyrod a shot, continue development of Stick, see where we are at QB after a season with a good-very good OL, very good- great D.

I am personally giving you full authority to give me a 5.1 day ban if that is the plan. You know why ? Because it will never be the plan.

We're in good shape at DE, Jones & Tillery are good DT prospects but we need more from the interior DL than we got last year. If we go trenches I'm liking the Niner model. We'll see how that goes.

There's no question that he wants a tough ground game. Will we go all in on trenches? If 49ers win SB, it's a definite possibility.

The pick will be Simmons....... Simmons will be gone. Might very well be gone. He should be gone, as he is the 3rd best talent in this draft in my view. Then the Bolts look at CB Okudah, or DL Brown, or WR Jeudy.......or an OT. As much as I know OT is a huge need, I do not see any OT as top six in talent, but TT could reach. I add the best talent I can, and would be good with any player I have specifically mentioned in this post. My current top six..... Burrow Young Simmons Okudah Brown Jeudy I hope Simmons falls......

I'm starting to think we don't take a QB at #6... I can't believe we start the season with Tyrod/Stick as our QB's. But, you could be right because there will be several QB's available in the FA period. I'm doubting there will be even on OT available so the plan could be different than we expect. It's going to be a very interesting off season. If we pass on a QB at #6, imagine the players that we could have to pick from!

I think SDC is right- Simmons will be gone by 6. Otherwise I, too, am liking him to be the Chargers first rounder. I originally believed we must get an OT (not a QB or any other offensive position!) but perhaps this draft being fairly deep in Olinemen may allow us to grab a top defender. Like Frozen listed- Simmons, Okudah, and Brown are the TOP players at their position and coincidentally we could use any of those three positions! Of course, at 6 we may also be able to take the top OT (Thomas, Wills, Wirfs, I've even seen Becton mocked in the top ten!) but maybe the drop between the top defensive position and the next player is much steeper than the tiers for this year's offensive line draftees. So I can't wait to see who will be there at six- I'm not in favor of moving up at all and I'm very dubious at moving down- and as long as we don't take the third rated QB*, we should come out if this draft with a potentially great rookie! (* = I think Burrows and Young are locks at 1 and 2, and the Dolphins take Tua at 5 or even move up for him so the other three players picked before us leaves us one of the defenders mentioned above or the top OT on our board. Obviously two QBS in the top 5 mean the third best QB is available and I am disagreeable to waste such a high pick on the bronze medalist.)
