Pick up the #4 QB who is as good as #3 in the second round Agreed... Fromm > Herbert Hebert is the sexy pick. Big strong with a rocket arm. I don’t see good leadership from him, he has accuracy issues and is anti clutch. Jake Fromm won’t produce great measurables but is probably the smartest QB in the draft. Very good QB’s (Russell Wilson and Drew Brees come to mind) have dropped because of measurables. The interesting thing about Fromm is that his path is almost the direct opposite of Joe Burrows. He beat out Jacob Eason and Justin Fields and produced at a high level as an underclassman. Then he had his worst season as a junior. Kinda surprised he came out. But as a first hand observer, he had no weapons to work with in 2019. It’s clear that he doesn’t have the skills to carry a team with mediocre talent but he is a leader that people respect. I don’t get that from Hebert.

I would not get too caught up in the 'history' of successful QB drafting. It is more about evaluating this group (all players) and deciding on a roster build strategy for the draft post FA. The only QB I like @#6 is Herbert, as Burrow is not dropping (I am not selling out to move up) and Tua worries me. That leaves Herbert in my view, but I am doubtful about taking a QB. I like Simmons, as well as Brown, long before Herbert. You are the Stevie Wonder of QB evaluators.

The post you quoted is far from a ringing endorsement of drafting Herbert, in fact my post pretty much says 'pass' on drafting him. Don't let any of that stop your snide comments.....I enjoy experiencing the fan mentality.

I get the injury concerns around Tua but seriously? I bet you were a Sam Donald man a couple of years ago. I am on record that he would suck.

I'll tell you this - if we wait for a sure thing like Elway or P. Manning to come along, we may never have another good QB. If you are of the opinion that we must take a QB at six - you can be sure you will be taking a chance because only Burrows looks to have it all together - the rest of them all have flaws in their games. If was TT, I'd go after Bridgewater in FA period. He's a safer pick than the young QB's in the draft. That move would also allow you to take BPA at #6.

He would be cheaper than PR. But by how much?

Look at Bridgewater through the eyes of Minnesota, not New Orleans... He won't have the weapons (arguably) or the coaching (no-arguement) that he had in a few games at New Orleans.

Just a great take. I like that double ending in the post. Really well done. I like smart takes, no matter my opinions.
