Agree. Even we all think he'd be a cap cut I do not see Okung being a 'cap cut' in the true sense, as signing any replacement OT would coast as much or more. Drafting a replacement would obviously be less cost. I do see Okung being a release because of injury/cost concerns combined. If I thought Okung was likely to get IR'd again, which I do believe, then I would move in another direction. I wonder how his blood condition has progressed ? Scary stuff there. wow.

To be fair, you and Roo are both correct. I would replace Okung because of the injury probability, but I would not release him until I replaced him. The question is where does that replacement come from ? FA.....Conklin perhaps, or draft....and that would almost certainly mean pick #6. (I would go draft, but 2nd or 3rd pick, maybe even both) Indeed. No reason to cut him now. And if Okung’s health is good enough to take a lesser risk on, a rework adding a year but cutting the cost might give you a solid duo. I think the odds of him staying around this season go up if they choose draft for the other anchor. I like the idea of tying Okung up for 2 years.......VERY freaky idea indeed. We'd need the extra thick rope of course.......... OH for LT ?? I like that idea too. Do you think he would take less, and do 2 years ? Remember, he's the rare guy that has no agent. Negotiates his own contracts.

For sure, but I would think it means a little more to a 43 year old QB. Especially a 'pocket' type, but I think all would consider the likelihood of their success before signing. Unless it was a huge over payment...... I just heard a great great take on this. The take outlined that more teams like bootleg, roll out QB's now. They said these new college coaches coming in prefer it. They went on to say it helps pass protection. That its tough pass blocking that many times in a game, and bootlegging gives the weak side olineman a breather. Really interesting perspective. Of course, I know what I know. I know its a copycat league, and everybody wants tippy-toe Mahomes, my creamy little butterfly. REACT AS ONLY I CAN BREAK DOWN THE NFL FOR YOU !!!!!!!! Brady would have to be insane to play behind this oline as it is now. With that said, I don't think a FA QB is in our future. Possibly a 1st, likely a later rounds QB IMHO to play behind Tyrod. Honestly the only FA QB I want is a healthy Newton... Newton is intriguing, isn't he ? Its a guy who's done it before, big ego, with something to prove. Do you trust his injuries recovered ? I just don't see him as the chemistry guy the Chargers covet. I trust his injury about as much as I trust Tua's. At least with Newton you know what you have... He would have arguably the best WR duo he has ever had, and he is only 30 years old.

Wouldn't this statement about fear apply to all FA QB's ? Let me tell you right here and now,,,,,,,, John Elway had ZERO fear when he FA Peyton Manning. He wasn't alone in Denver either. It is not the GM that has the fear, rather the prospective FA QB.....

The injury concerns are enough to scare me off but I also don't care for his me, me ,me attitude.

I've been thinking about Ekeler - most think the 2nd round tender is best but I have these thoughts - 1. He's worth the money of the first round tender. 2. Imagine the Chiefs taking him - they get another weapon and we get the last pick of the second round. 3. He's such a hard worker - that's a good example for the young players. 4. It's always smart to pay and keep the players that you selected and that have come through.

Give him a first round tender you cheap ****s.
