I saw sloppy players. It wasn't typical of Lynn's Chargers. They were guys like King who knows how to play at a very high level and did so in the past for Lynn. I thought it was a case of trying too hard. Rivers included, - who may have been the primary offender. It's the belief among many GMs & owners that it's better to let an aging star go too soon rather than to keep him too long. I know that has been the Chargers operating theory. I agree with moving on from PR. Use that cap on FA OL, other key position(s) as opportunity permits. Keeping PR would have been a stalling tactic that may have avoided QB hell in 2020 but was unlikely to lead to Lombardi heaven. There are NO guarantees.
Give Lynn his mobile QB & ground game with a killer D. See how it goes. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Rivers had his best years as a young QB with LT pounding the rock. That isn't coming back.
Blame the players, then exonerate them by declaring their sloppiness was because of too much effort....... sorry, but what a crock.
It was a consistent trait of the Lynn run club, being unprepared, unfocused, sloppy play.......resulting in 5-11. Yeah but it's my crock. Sloppy play was a consistent feature of Lynn's 2019 Chargers. Not his 2017-18 teams. Maybe they just didn't give a crap about last year but seems unlikely. Something changed. Trying too hard seems more likely than Lynn getting lazy. May have had something to do with players out with injury, hold out- lack of preparation by "star" RB. Could be Lynn doesn't have the vision to be a HC, doesn't understand how all the pieces go together. Not my top guess but we'll see. A 1 yr 2020 contract has obvious earmarks. Win now or don't let the door hit you in the ass. How many wins it'll take to keep his job is a good pool to bet on. I'll take 10.

LOL! Of course! W-L is meaningless, it's how you play the game! (? duh? ) I’ll piggyback off of your astute sarcasm and rapier wit... the sample size is too small. Thank you. I love you creamily. Don't butter me up. You may cut yourself. You're welcome. I'm not ready to exchange rings yet but if you play your cards right??? Maybe matching tattoos.

The goalie's knee jerk reaction to fire Lynn is understandable. The 8th longest tenured coach in the NHL has 3 years. They swap coaches every year.
The biggest problem early on as well as the previous year should be laid at the doorstep of Whisenhunt not Lynn. Their biggest problem was for some odd reason he always took to long getting the play into to Rivers. Plays were rushed and he did not have enough time to read the defense pre-snap and make changes at the line. Too many wasted timeouts or penalties were directly caused by that.

Good take. I don't have to agree with any of it to call it a good take. Different opinions make for discussion. Rather than Freaking out, let me ask you a simple question: Did all of this and more improve once Whiz left ?

The constant need to barely beat the play clock has been a problem for years. I think most of that is on Rivers. I can’t cast blame on Whiz without including the HC as well. My guess is that Rivers was constantly draining the clock to get a read on the defense and it drove Lynn crazy. But he still didn’t change it.

Couldn’t have been good for the oline. Not that the Dline can watch the playclock but surely they were able to get into a nice rhythm.

"knee jerk reaction" where do you come up with this stuff? I have been posting since late in the season that I would move on from Lynn. I do not hate Lynn, I just see an average at best HC. Average is not going to the Super Bowl....... Perhaps it is Poll Time......
Simple question, two answer options.
Do you believe the Bolts will go to a Super Bowl with Lynn as their HC ? Yes...or.....No

It didn't improve once Whis left, it was Rivers. Or Whiz was not the cause, and neither was Rivers. I do think getting the play in did improve.
