Austin Ekeler's thoughts on Tyrod, Cam and Jameis-Ekeler would entertain the possibility of Cam Newton or Jameis Winston as the Chargers' quarterback, but he supports Taylor as the man to lead the offense. "He's just one of the smarter players in the league, I feel like," Ekeler said. "This man was literally the first one in the locker room every day. Like every morning, you see Tyrod's there before everyone else. Maybe he's just a freak morning person, but he's super-dedicated to the game. Even taking a backup role last year behind Philip, Tyrod was still in the game, and that's what I think is gonna give us a chance. "He is dedicated, he's super-athletic, he makes smart decisions, and he started for a few teams so he has that experience, and so that leadership comes with that too. And we have a lot of playmakers around him to make his job a little bit easier, so I think we can get it done." www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/austin-ekeler-says-philip-rivers-will-be-missed-with-chargers-supports-tyrod-taylor-as-new-quarterback/ To me the knock of Taylor is his lack of confidence in his decisions as he goes through progressions. thus why he throws it away or runs

It depends on if they have a good reason. Tua's hip would be a good reason. Otherwise no, I wouldn't be good with that. Drafting high starts. Drafting high needs experience. After 0-5 games. If they drafted Tua, and could not play him because of his hip.....Wow, that would be a huge failure of due diligence on the part of TT. If I read your response correctly, you are pretty much saying being drafted @ # 6 overall means you best be playing. This is actually a great question by you. I'll go back, then I'll go forward, then we'll run around the mulberry bush a little. Back in time: QB's would get drafted and sit the bench by design. They didn't trust rookies and wanted them to learn. Forward/Now: teams with an early pick QB want them to start as early as possible. 5 year rookie contracts, tremendous Cap Value in the top position on the field, they want to know their big draft investment either pays off, or you go another route as soon as they can. Around the Mulberry Bush: Injuries are a special exception. A guy like Tua is worth drafting, even IF you have to wait a year for him to play. He gets to learn for a year, and we currently have Taylor to start. Taylor CAN be that Bridge guy. Tua wait a year because you are hurt. Herbert we will get you some snaps while you learn year 1. Burrow ? Taylor would be out in the new parking lot washing Burrow's car on Game days/ Game 1. At least its a new lot...............

Miami and Cincy couldn't pull off 0-16, but we are going 0-16................................ I think TB was referring to the last sentence.....you know the one about rookie winning the Super Bowl. Only 1 player vs a team? That ain't football. Maybe Pro Wrestling.

Half of last year's OL starters are now backups. TT has been making big moves. I am expecting a huge improvement from last year even if TT doesn't add any more players to the roster. Based of Quees/Feeney performance in camp, maybe even Pouncey is a June cut.Feeney is a disaster. But they could do it. His dead cap is only 2.5 million. On the flip side, he is only getting over 7 million and he's in his last contract year. If they only got 8 games out of him it would be worth it. Thinking about Pouncey why am I getting flashbacks to Hardwick's last year. Coming off neck surgery , play one or two games then IR for the rest of the season then retirement.

Gruden doing due diligence, and sowing uncertainty and confusion into the process. TT can add a really good player at 6th, it doesn't have to be a QB.

Tua Tagovailoa - QB School: Alabama | Year: Junior Considering the increased likelihood of Tyrod Taylor being a major part of the team's 2020 effort and the Chargers' improvements at left tackle (Bryan Bulaga) and on defense (CB Chris Harris) in free agency, Tagovailoa's blend of quick- and deep-passing potential gives the Bolts the best chance for the most wins in 2020. Should Tua not be available, Mekhi Becton would be my model's next-best selection here.
