There is no possible way outside of WWIII that we have no season, for reasons Bleu has mentioned. There are wayyy to many ramifications and Goodell is not smart enough or have the energy to work through them. Worst case scenario is we play to empty stadiums and some players opt out... It will be like that movie The Replacements. You sure that isn’t best case scenario ? Thats excatly what the NBA and MLB are looking to start in a few weeks, and it would be a stretch to say either is set up to hit the ground running. In fact there is more of a shift from optimism to skepticism with each day that passes. If either experiment flops, good luck seeing any action from the NFL... NHL to begin play once again on August 1st, and in empty arenas......

AAAAAAHHHH!!!! I just found this. POSTED IN ANOTHER THREAD. BleuMoon Avatar Apr 13, 2020 at 10:32pm BleuMoon said: ... Here's a wild thought for the 2020 Vision: What if the draft happens as planned and then the football season is cancelled later this summer. I'm getting not to care..... Posted July 9, 2020 I truly don't want to be right about the idea I proposed months ago (April 13, 2020) of CANCELLING COLLEGE FOOTBALL and/or NO NFL SEASON, but...the dominos keep falling. I will ask you all again. 1. Would players with guaranteed contracts still get paid even if there's no season? I think they would. 2. Would teams be able to keep players with expiring contracts (i.e. Bosa, Henry, Ingram, KA, King, etc) on the same contract for the 2021 season? they would lose so much money if they didn't play. You have to figure all teams in the same boat, the league will compromise. 3. Would rosters need to be increased beyond 90 players due to having two new draft classes and even more undrafted FA on your preseason roster in 2021? To many questions. My head is going to explode.4. What happens to the 2021 draft...Is it fair to use the same draft order in 2021 as from 2020? No one would like it. I saw it goes to a drawing5. What if the Chargers in a weighted lottery got the #1 pick in the 2021 draft...would you take the top QB? I would either trade herbert, then draft Lawrence, or trade the pick. Both for a boat load. What say you....especially to the one they call Freak who claims to see all. ok i'll play Hey totallybolted--appreciate you taking the time respond. I am a little surprised that more journalist have not taken a long range view of the very real possibilities I proposed. Winter is coming!

What say you....especially to the one they call Freak who claims to see all. Hi Bleu, I hope your summer is going well. I have never given any of this any thought. You could take the best non-QB with the number 1 pick, trade back for more picks, trade Herbert and take the best QB, or draft the QB and trade Herbert later, Arizona did it. The league could log jam the draft too. Don't have a draft, then lump everyone into the next draft. Could you imagine the talent pool in that draft ?? The 64th pick would be a first round rated guy ! Hey freak--appreciate the response. All remain healthy in my little bubble. I would look to draft QB Lawrence and rather than trade Herbert, let the best young QB win. We could also trade one of them down the road. It's truly going to get interesting if the college season gets cancelled. Winter is coming!

I haven't been following other sports but are they looking to limit attendance or go with completely empty stands? If they only limit fans, I wonder which team will have the best "traveling fans"?

EPL, arguably the only sports league in the world that can be ranked higher than the NFL in any category, is playing games in empty stadiums, and has been for some time now.

This is not the 1850's and it is not the 1960's. Its an election year my friend.

I’ve watched some of those games. The level of play seems as good as ever. The crowd noise is a bit weird.

Does Bosa have the stats to get that huge money, or does he need to have this next season's play to show he deserves it?

You can tell he really wants it. IMHO Joey gets by on talent but lacks the heart to be elite, its why he seems to disappear at times. Whereas the other Bosa is always around the ball or making a play. We'll see how Joey does this year... Being a contract year I think he'll play well and then we'll be cursing at him next year when he disappears again.

Speaking of opt outs the Chargers are giving their fans the chance to opt out of 2020

I don't think he has the talent, but has the desire. I know he doesn't have his brother's talent. This isn't to bash Joey. He is good and a fine DE for us. He just is what he is at this point. Nothing wrong with good not elite. Except if you pay elite levels.

I'm fine with him being just "good", it will just suck because he will see himself as something else and then we have another MG situation.

Especially with 2 D-lineman just getting big contracts. Garrett's is the biggest contract ever given any defensive player, and he is smack dab playing exactly where Bosa plays.
