That is funny actually... I'm fine with him being just "good", it will just suck because he will see himself as something else and then we have another MG situation. I can see that happening. Especially with 2 D-lineman just getting big contracts. Garrett's is the biggest contract ever given any defensive player, and he is smack dab playing exactly where Bosa plays. So does TT trade Bosa to a club that is likely to have a top ten first round pick? Is Bosa even worth that return?

My guess is the Chargers will get it worked out with Bosa. Why ? Because we have a shiny new Rookie QB Contract. That's why.

Bosa will be worth it to me if he can stay consistent... Just play at the level you earned after getting paid and I'm happy.

Herbert's contract is cheap, but the Bolts' entire expenditure on the QB's is as well......

TT gives contracts to guys that he drafted, and stay good boys. Bosa checks the boxes, and we have the cheap QB contracts.

Teams know they are inheriting his big contract, and it has to be negotiated. If you are correct and he wants insane money, what kind of offer do you think you will get for him. Not much if any.

To me it is about two things, addressing the talent loss, and avoiding the disruption of acrimonious negotiations. To answer your question, I would take a 1st rd pick from a club that 'should' be drafting middle of the round, and a 3rd rd pick.....so a 1st and a 3rd gets it done. I would not allow interaction from a possible trading partner and Bosa's agent. The trade is you get Bosa for his final year, and clearly have the ability to negotiate an extension at any point you choose. You also have all the tagging rights found under the CBA. Let me say none of this happens until I have concluded after discussions with Bosa's agent that it is unlikely I can get him signed at a cost I find acceptable. I would inform the agent of my thoughts, and that the club will be entertaining trade offers. I want the player hearing it first, not through the media, Bosa deserves that respect. Barring a trade, Bosa is a member of the club, and all events transpiring over the next season would certainly impact any continued negotiations, both in the positive and the negative. Then I would put it out in the media, essentially saying I did not think resigning was going to happen, so trading is a possibility. See what clubs offer.....might be as you say, not much. Then we just go down the tag route.......

Does anybody see Bosa as long term investment? Does Bosa have the longevity at his current skill level? In terms of longevity, is he our JJ Watt or Clay Mathews? I honestly don't... I don't know why, I just do not.

You might get the 3rd.
