If we beat Denver tomorrow, we'll be picking 12th. Certainly the 2nd best OT would be no less of a reach than the 3rd best WR or 2nd best CB.
I understand how comfortable we've all become with 6th round OT's and OT's from Northwest Southern State... but the fact is we went 12-4 (even with a suddenly inept Anthony Lynn) in 2018... when we had an actual OT and OC.
I hear Melvin Gordon is having a good year...

DJ's great... until he dislocates his hip doing jumping jacks during pre-game warm ups. DJ is entering Jason Verrett territory...

There isn't a clear cut #1 WR. 5 or 6 of them are all pretty close in talents. The CB's are the same way... nothing special or must-have. I see CB's in the 3rd round that are probably just as good Surtain or Farely.
IMO, there are 5 elite players in this draft. Lawrence, Fields, Sewell, Parsons, and Rousseau. All of them should be gone by pick 8. After that, there are 5 WR's, 2 OT's, 2 CB's, 2 QB's, and a TE. You could throw in 2 RB's... but hopefully everyone will remember that a 1st round RB is worthless behind a sub-par OL.

Even tho half of SF’s squad has been IR’d this season somehow Jason Verrett has stayed healthy and looked pretty good yesterday matched up on Deandre Hopkins.

I think only two, Lawrence and Sewell, then a step down to your three plus I would add the TE Pitts, then it gets blurred pretty quickly. I would like to believe there will be solid value/talent for an OT still available as far down as 17th pick. Drafting 9th or later should see TT targeting OT, so I wonder if there is a trade down possible, and what it might gain in return. Regardless, I think PON really influences the draft strategy this year, as much as I prefer BPA.

I think choosing a TE in the 1st in kind of a waste. Especially when you can re-sign a TE that is both a good receiver and a good blocker (Henry). I don't believe Pitts is as good a blocker as Henry... not to mention all of the PON's you bypass to pick him top-15.

I suspect Pitts will be off the board, but even if not, I do not see TT taking him. The Bolts will go PON, and our view or prioritization of PON could be vastly different than the clubs.

I wasn't advocating taking him, just saying he looks good and if we had other holes filled he would be great for our offense. Sorry I'm not on the Hunter Henry train.

Well taking Pitts and letting HH walk would create a savings with Pitts on an ELC......but it really depends on where they are drafting from, and my thought is 10-15th.....best get that OT.

For sure, and lets hope that OT is not another Fluker.
