They are planning to interview too many people. That tells me they don’t have a very specific idea of what they are looking for or have done any meaningful pre qualifying. What were we thinking? It’s the chargers. They have an attractive opening but will screw this up I’m not sure that’s necessarily true, but I can see why you say that. I would have liked them to have a list of ~5 already. But with the Rooney Rule and probably some PTSD/sensitivity to emotional reactions driving a hire, they may want more data from real, in-person interviews to knock off some of the peaks and valleys. Sometimes a little friction slows things down just enough.

Anybody with a choice, ie a solid candidate isn’t gonna wait around for the Chargers or even be part of the dog and pony show. Once again they are screwing it up. The best candidates will be hired fairly quickly and the chargers will be standing around saying wait we’ve got 5 more guys to interview before we decide. They will be left with leftovers

I would think that the interviews can be done in a week, and then you bring in 2-3 finalists for in-person interviews. We shall see.

Wow! Jags have some serious capital to play with, both in cap space and draft picks. I can see why Meyer would be willing to take their 12 million dollars to build and then coach that club. Are you ready for this offer ? JAX told Meyer he could hand pick his own GM and make the draft selections himself !?!?!?!?! They may not get him, but sweet day of the morning, at least they TRIED.

I’m still doing research, and I concede that this is pretty unsettled, but here’s how I would cluster and tier the candidates so far:
1: Bill Belichick
2: Brian Daboll; Jim Harbaugh; Jason Garrett; Jim Caldwell
3: Brian Kelly; David Shaw; Arthur Smith; Robert Saleh
4: Matt Eberflus; Brandon Staley
5: Matt Campbell; Joe Brady; Eric Bieniemy; Pat Fitzgerald

That's at least intriguing.

Zoom makes it possible to blow some smoke, inflate #s without bogging down the process. There's a face in the crosshairs as we speak. I hope they score a billseye, oops, I mean bullseye.

Seriously...
Notice Colin didn't talk about his playoff record.
Bill Parcells has a Superbowl and Garrett does not...
Brady was a late late round QB and has how many rings? The QB excuse is bad...
Again, as Colin says, Garrett had Romo, Dak, Zeke, an all pro oline, and Dez. How'd they do in those playoffs again?
Jerry Jones and Texas as a whole is another bad excuse. So he can't handle the pressure?
Just say NO to the clapper...
