I disagree, of the 3 OLinemen that should be around at #13, jenkins, AVT, and potentially darrisaw, I don’t think the top corners overtake any of them as a BPA. These corners have a ton of flags. Surtain is stiff and lacks elite speed, he’s no shutdown corner, the ramsey comparisons are totally bogus. Horn is actually really raw and his tackling is suspect, which is kind of concerning especially in light of the fact his father played in the NFL. I read both of those corners are lacking tape in a key NFL type of coverage, I forgot what it was but some teams are concerned that the way they were used in college is not compatible with some of the skills that both will need in the NFL. AVT, jenkins, and darrisaw don’t have those type of concerns and are much much safer picks, the chargers need a hit, they need starters. So at some point you have to factor in the probablity of starting day one and higher floor into your BPA formula, it all factors in. I am a bit confused. Is your evaluation that the three OL guys are the higher talent, or safer pick when considering the Bolts' needs? If TT has a plan for OT, then it will not shock me if pick 13 is a WR, CB or even the ILB Parsons.....heck they might even go Edge. It all comes down to their plan for an OT solution. If by higher talent you mean likelihood of becoming all pro players at their respective positions, then yes, jenkins, darrisaw, and AVT are more talented than surtain and horn. The corner that has that kind of grade is farley and he’s a medical liability. Horn and surtain are getting pushed because farley is falling, otherwise farley goes in the too ten. In a less QB laiden draft sans sewell, darrisaw would be the first OT coming off the board and both slater and AVT might be top ten picks, but the QB class pushed all those guys down several slots I think horn is riskier than pick than surtain but surtain is not going to be a dominant corner in the NFL, he’s going to be servicable above avg perhaps but I just don’t see IT, for surtain’s sake I hope I’m wrong about him. Horn might have higher ceiling but his tackling tells me that staley wouldn’t touch him, smaller perhaps but samuel is a much better value in the 2nd and will have a better career than horn and surtain. A real gem with star potential is adebo from stanford in round 3. He reminds me of nambdi asomua

The chargers have to draft one of the following five men in order to kick this draft off properly, it would be inexcusable for them not to get one of these players; sewell, slater, AVT, darrisaw, or jenkins. I placed them in the order I would draft them if all five are available at #13,
Sewell and slater get bumped to 4 and 5 spot if I have to give up draft capital which is what will happen so AVT, darrisaw, or jenkins at #13 would be my preference with no trade
a trade up for sewell would be my second preference and I don’t see the point in trading up for slater, I’d rather have AVT or darrisaw a without trade and keep the 2nd round pick but it sounds like the chargers are crazy about slater

In true Chargers and TT fashion... Sewell, Slater, Darrisaw, AVT, Surtain, Pitts, Horn, and Joe Montana will be available and he'll draft Craig Mager.

I want to move up and get Sewell... Or stay put and get Slater or Darrisaw. If we go any other position I want a CB, Surtain or Horn. Aside from being out of the sewell sweepstakes the chargers are actually in one of the better draft positions in this draft. They’d almost have to purposefully blow the top pick, they could literally throw a dart blindfolded and get an awesome player like ANY one of the guys you listed there You do remember John Spanos has final say

I like Adebo as well, but I think he gets taken in the 2nd rd......

DRAFT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I secretly want a WR. I know the value of OT. If we get a corner, get Surtain. If I was MADE to pick, I think Slater is our guy. Well villagers, I have done it again. How ?

Boy is round 2 exciting. The Chargers can do anything here. With the top 2 RB's gone in the first round, I would wait until Round 3. BUT fouts2herbert likes the North Carolina RB, so it will be fun to watch that play out.
I would say CB, Safety, and WR are all in play for the second round.

Round 2......
CB Campbell or maybe ILB Bolton.....or Basham for the D line......
I don't see TT doing this, but it is possible, RB Javonte Williams.

I kinda want Javonte Williams but understand the importance of secondary help... Yep.....He is a good player, but easy to understand why TT would choose a different good player. My guess is they focus on defence for a good bit, could/should see any of OL/WR/TE late in the draft.

I am hoping for a big day2 WR and the remaining seven picks on defense with CB given special attention. The bolts are in a position to go BPA on all remaining picks.

Which WR went before Pitts........Freak....Freak.....where are you? Great call by you. He beat Chase to the draft pick. What he went 4th and Chase went 5th. Thank heavens they went early, that left Slater for us. I have heard Pitts called generational talent at TE. He now has Matt Ryan throwing to him. Let's see if he can live up to it. I hate that much pressure put on a rookie. Good luck to Pitts !!!
