Then get 9 more to replace Ingram and switch to edge rushers...

DRAFT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I secretly want a WR. I know the value of OT. If we get a corner, get Surtain. If I was MADE to pick, I think Slater is our guy. Just wanted to keep this hot baby fresh. Canada wanted Darrisaw. How many years in a row can I go.

Actually, my belief was Sewell would be off the board, and if Slater was there you take him but he is likely off the board as well. That left Darrisaw as my top OT, but I would have looked at the other talent on the board before deciding my pick, with a good chance I took a CB. I thought TT would go CB then OT...... Go as many years as you enjoy.....

I have nothing against Darrisaw, except that lack of pass plays at his college, they run the ball. #13 was a really juicy spot this year with all the QB's and skill guys going early. I just could not see picking the 3rd rated OT at #13. Darrisaw lasting all the way to 23rd was the end result. Go Leatherwood, eh ?

I don't believe the ratings between 1st and 3rd OT's was that great of a difference, and truly believe if Slater had been off the board, Darrisaw would have very much been in consideration by TT. Raiders and Leatherwood.....who knows, might have been great pick by them, might not. Similar to TT's Palmer pick, might prove to be an incredibly smart pick, might not.....time will tell, eh?

BUT,,,,,,,,,,we don't have to guess anymore. The proof is done. Sewell went 7th, Slater 13th, and Darrisaw all the way to 23rd. There is real and concrete differences there. 7th to 23rd is another world in NFL draft terms.

I remember comparing Darrisaw to Fluker and getting hammered for it... Apparently GM's agreed with me and he fell to 23rd.

One huge advantage is that Minnesota does not play with their Oline. That is a hell of a coached up system for Olinemen, and RB Dalvin Cook has feasted behind that line.

My evaluations still stand, I believe Darrisaw will be the far better OT over any other OT's that were drafted after Slater. Reality is nobody can make firm judgements on how these players' careers will be at this point. Talk in a year or two, eh? As far as your "There is real and concrete differences there." comment, mistakes abound in the draft, just look at who the Dolphins could have had instead of Tua.
