If you look at my posts discussing the draft before it happened, I made several great points why we should NOT draft Herbert.
(To be fair, I wanted us to keep Rivers and not draft ANY quarterback this year, but even after PR I was still against drafting whoever would be the the third qb picked over the #1 player at another PON.)
I thought I had smart, strategic reasoning. But boy am I glad the Chargers didn't!
I am not so proud that I won't admit to being very, very wrong!

We all knew that Burrows was going #1, so it was always about taking the QB left (Tua/Herbert) after Miami made their pick. I was against taking a QB, I would have went another year with Rivers. Clearly the disfunction was much greater than I had any idea about, with Rivers out a certain thing from club perspective. Regardless, my preference was resign Rivers, draft Simmons..... If I had to take a QB, Herbert was my preference over Tua.....but Simmons was my pick. Big mistake on my part, as Simmons will be very solid, but getting a franchise QB is hitting the lotto, eh?

Remember when we said this year was going to be important and TT had to get it right? Well he did, thank god. Now fire Lynn and find a coach that can best exploit Herbert's talents...

No. What I said was that GM's go crazy out of their minds for QB's in the draft. Because they do. Never doubt me. I also said QB's drafted will make or break GM's. TT is in a very good spot right now.

I would still love me some Urban Meyer running this team, but based on his interviews it seems like it would take a Jerry Jones pocket book to bring him back to coaching.
