I posted a few posts up, like I said I noticed he addressed them all by name without them introducing themselves first, also noted Kay as a Chicago fan. Just shows he does his homework on the fine small Minute details, which is a fantastic sign for us. — he’s won me. I think we lucked out.

Coach’s intro presser: The coach is intriguing. A lot of risk but seems to have some potential. John Spanos is unprepared and disappointing, and they had no plan. I really want this coach and team to succeed. I have little hope. J Spanos sounds full of it......got to be challenging for TT.

At this point I’m thoroughly convinced that John Spanos is a total tool and TT is doing his best to do the real job in spite of John. Your two-vision theory is very likely. I would probably amend that to say they don’t just have two visions, they have two visions where the owner’s is horrifically incompetent and yet imposed.

In the passing league of today, some of that "defense wins championships" is fading away. The 4 teams that are left right now have Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen. Think of that. Think of the knowledge I am sharing with you guys. Think how VALUABLE Justin Herbert is. You are welcome on all fronts. In advance. So true on how valuable Herbert is but also — what happens to those QB’s when they are hit in the face? Brady all year long, he’s worst in the league under pressure. Him against the giants In the SB? Peyton Manning against the Hawks in SB? Rodgers against Tampa earlier this year? They all fade when their punched in the mouth. I named the 4 QB's that are left in the playoffs. Guess what ? They all still play tomorrow.

Brady threw 3 INT’s in the 2007 AFC Championship Game after repeatedly getting hit in the mouth despite Merriman being hobbled by the career-altering cheap shot against the filthy dirty Titans. If it weren’t for the fact that LT and Lo Neal (broken fibula courtesy of the Titans) missed the game, Gates was gimping around the field with a damaged foot courtesy of another cheap shot by the Titans, and PR playing without an ACL (originally injured his knee against the Titans on a low hit in the pocket), the undefeated Patriots run would have ended before getting beat up by the Giants in the Super Bowl. You need offense, but unless you have a D to match you ain’t winning a ring. SO....the greatest QB ever had 3 INT's after "getting hit in the mouth", but won the game ?? But only because we had offensive players out injured.

His SECOND phone call after taking the job was to Herbert. Because defense wins championships. Chargers was a coveted coveted coaching job because Bosa plays here. No, that wasn't it. Because Derwin James is on the roster. No no that wasn't it. It was called the best NFL job opening because Herbert is here. Defense wins championships because we are moving Herbert to Safety.

The Rams and the Bears had the best defense in the NFL. Because defense wins championships, they are at home on the couch watching the playoffs.
Their QB's on defense wins championships were Jared Goff with a broken thumb and Mitch Freaking TRUBISKY.....
never challenge me. Ever.

AND All Pro Shawne Merriman limping around the field, and the refs missing two flagrant penalties on a PR interception where Mike Vrabel leg whipped PR in the ACL-less leg as he was releasing the pass and Asante Samuel pulling down on Chambers’ shoulder and climbing his back on the back-end.

The Cheatriots have won championships largely due to mad scientist Billy B’a defensive schemes that drive them in games where Brady struggles. Just ask Russell Wilson, Pete Carroll & Sean McVay. 😉 You’ve got to have both: you’ll notice that two of the highest scoring offenses in NFL history (1998 Vikings and 2007 Cheatriots) came up short.

The Chargers need to be able to outscore the Chiefs. That needs all three phases, but what it especially requires is a top 3 offense. They need OL, OL, OL, WR, RB.

We couldn’t score TDs. The Patriots ran the ball down our throats for the last 9 minutes of the game. Junior Seau stoned Michael Turner a yard in the backfield from the 5. Our 3 HOF offensive players were either unavailable due to injury or hobbled. Think of how much bad luck we had.

True, and outscoring them is a lot easier if they can't score. There are a lot of examples to make either point O or D wins Modern Championships.
Top D appears to make the Championships with greater consistency but you can't be a turd in any aspect and will need some luck to boot.
How many Lombardi's did Air Coryell's #1 offense in 1980 - '83, '85 win?

Yes. But are you going to keep Pat Mahomes under 21 points? Probably not. Outscore him. That doesn’t mean you don’t have to have solid D and ST.
