Interesting hire, but certainly a name being thrown around by the media as a future HC, so not a completely crazy hire. Building his staff should be telling....

I was okay with Daboll because he’s not young and had significant experience in the NFL. I was hopeful for a winning HC. This is the ultimate gamble, and the odds are simply not in our favor.

Shocked. They went with a guy whose resume barely qualifies him to be HC of a D-III college team. He must be a great interview but let’s face it he shouldn’t have been on our list. I’m not against hiring a defensive minded coach but good lord at least have some hair on your balls. Who wasn't on our list? My grandmother was on our list, rest her soul. |

Good OCs become HCs. Hopefully the Chargers can do what most teams not coached by Belichick with Tom Brady cannot offensively.

I have a completely different take on this hiring process. That alone should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone............... I think they pissed around and got caught holding their unit. You can't officially hire until the person is out of the playoffs. Let's review. Meyer was out of the playoffs, JAX hired him. Saleh was out, Jets hired him. Arthur Smith was out, Atlanta hired him. They talked to Dabyourelbow, but it must have been uncertain, and he's still in the playoffs with the Bills. If they had waited anymore, they stood a chance on missing the just freed up Staley--- who Aaron Rodgers just went straight to school on. The list has obvious attrition on it. We didn't get who we wanted, or who we should have. We got who was left.You are all very welcome. In advance too.

This is the equivalent of Burger King hiring a manager from McDonald's because he can make good fries... *protip the fries are already good... I'm really annoyed as I knew I would be... If Staley keeps Steichen I'm done, I can't take anymore incompetence from this owner. I'm really curious on who his coordinators are going to be, hopefully they have a better resume than Staley.
