Prior to coaching in the NFL, Staley coached for three seasons at John Carroll University, a Division III college in University Heights, Ohio, and also spent a season as defensive coordinator at James Madison University.
I might actually have to harm myself after reading that. I'm going to anyway, but I might have to double up now.

This is our Matt LaFleur! You guys seem real skeptical for someone who worked with Sean McVay?
LaFleur's cousin's friend knew a guy who knew the assistant to the assistant of Sean McVay, and he is killing it in green bay.
Imagine how good B-Stale will be after coaching with the Sean as recently as 2 days ago?
I am very high one this hire!

Dude doesn't need to move his family, he knows how to get to the stadium, he knows where the local in-and-out burger is.
Just the above is a huge time and cost savings and will be reflected in our concessions prices on game day. That has to be taken into consideration.

Next 4 years before he is fired... 7-9 6-10 5-11 7-9 Rams #1 defense, smoked by the Packers and barely beat anyone with a winning record this year. One of their losses was to the Jets, let that sink in. I hate this team...

OK, I'm reading that ESPN article on Brandon Staley and they include this paragraph that stopped me in my tracks: "With an enrollment of 3,600 students, John Carroll is a relatively unknown small Catholic university 23 miles east of Cleveland. But it has become an NFL factory, producing Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco, New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio and Rams outside linebackers coach Chris Shula, among others."

Shocked. They went with a guy whose resume barely qualifies him to be HC of a D-III college team. He must be a great interview but let’s face it he shouldn’t have been on our list. I’m not against hiring a defensive minded coach but good lord at least have some hair on your balls. Who wasn't on our list? My grandmother was on our list, rest her soul. I knew more about your dead grandmother than I did about Brandon Staley. So I looked online for some articles and stuff on him and- full disclaimer: I am a Chargers homer and would fully support and be optimistic about our new head coach if it WAS your dead grandmother- and of course he's growing on me. Words like wunderkind, savant and genius are used about him, as are personable, player's coach, and relatable. Sure I'm skeptical about someone with maybe three years of NFL experience, only one as a coordinator. But maybe, just maybe, he will be the next NFL prodigy and not the next Spanos discount. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30663776/the-sean-mcvay-defense-former-division-iii-coordinator-brandon-staley-latest-coaching-wunderkind

Besides McVay for 1 season he hasn’t even worked under a single successful coach.

Sometimes I wonder why I watch the NFL at all. I'm glad I haven't paid for a single piece of merchandise in years.

I hope this guy is a massive success. I am excited for his first presser. The people he coached and worked with all seem to think he is the next wonderkid. Please be right!

"Producing" probably means they drove past it on their way to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
